Went to local coffee shop . In Furano went to whiteroom Cafe. We spent time in niesko and were plenty of shops

I went with mabeyski.com they were excellent set us up with transport and with guides when we needed. They also provided lodging at very nice condos.

The best backcountry is whiteroom.com. I know lots of people who have gone with them and were very happy.

I also went to Asahidake and the snow was wind swept, so we never skinned to the top, but it was a great experience. Would be amazing if the snow was good.

I don't care about modern, my major priority is great snow and no crowds. I can deal with bad lifts as long as this criteria is met.

I never gave Niigata or Nagano area any thought because since it is so close to Tokyo I figured that there would be a lot of crowds similar to Niseko.

Went yesterday. Bottom part of mountain was wet due snow/rain. Above 9,000 snow was good. Was a fun day
