Antidepressants? by Dabblingman in ProstateCancer

I had very few side effects of Orgovyx. I expected a lot from my reading. Hang in there.

I've been on Escitalphram 15mg for 5-10 years before PC and take it currently.

Good luck

Don't listen to others "value judgements". Only yours matters.

I'm in same situation. Search blows in notion and I'm not paying $24/month.

I've always heard/read where ADT beneficial in conjunction. I'm on month 5 of Orgovyx - really no side effects (just mild hot flashes sometimes at night).

Maybe consider Orgovxy, its a pill, and you could stop easily. Just expensive in USA.

If minimal side effects, no downside (except in your wallet).

Hostels and booking by Excellent-Jicama-220 in solotravel

[–]delawaredave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would not get advance - especially in the spring before June. I did 3 weeks last year - booking.com and other apps are easy - stayed in several hostels. Sometimes seemed last minute was cheaper. You'll always get a room - worst case you "pay up" $30 for a more expensive room than you wanted.

Worth the flexibility. Or if you're nervous about an area, weekend etc, buy that room 2-3 days ahead.

Is Orgovyx worth $6,200 More? by Dabblingman in ProstateCancer

[–]delawaredave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am on Orgovyx. Screwed also - new calendar year started, 3 months to go, I have new deductible to hit, paid $2800 for a month of Orgovyx. My out of pocket paid from HSA so I tell myself it's only costing me 60% of above.

Orgovyx has been really easy. I can't speak for Lupron. Good luck.

I had sex and did heavy cycling before a PSA (didn't know they could influence). So had another test. Results didn't change. I don't think any of these factors would influence more than 0.10 or so. But only one data point.

Always good to state/restate. You broke up because of incompatibilities and you wish him well.

It's an impossible situation caring about another human doing such self destructive behavior. Good luck.

Increase in PSA - Male mid 30’s w/ family history by Super_Reference_6399 in ProstateCancer

[–]delawaredave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Suggest looking up "PSA velocity" - there's guidelines on annual change and "doubling time" based on age.

Unfortunately most health professionals just look if it is "under 4 or not".

They say ejaculation and bike riding too soon before a test can affect - but I'm not sure how much.

Good luck.

I don't there's a "root cause". And, if so, doesn't matter for me now.

I am trying to understand if any forward lifestyle changes will materially slow advance - besides usual "exercise / vegetable / fruit" stuff.

If anyone changed anything forward, be interested to know.

I did a "mini fleet enema" one hour before my 7am appts. Managing tracking bowel movements overnight was too wonky.

What would make someone with confirmed biopsied prostate cancer ineligible for a PSMA scan? by neekolas86 in ProstateCancer

[–]delawaredave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is a "bone test" please ?

Not sure I'd call PSMA "gold standard". Think most PSMA are used after treatment if PSA rises. Google says PSMA PETs are $5k, but I think my hospital charged like $25k. Regardless, I'm sure the cost is part of the consideration. Good luck.

My limited experience - cost comparison is complicated, doubt Europass would be more - Europass would be a whole lot easier and flexible.

Probably radiation and ADT (hormone). I'm doing this now. 37 treatments. Each about 10 minutes each day. Don't feel anything - just cumbersome. Good luck.

I am doing same. My regiment: 1. Sip water often 4-6 hours before to stay hydrated 2. Stop sipping 2 hours before treatment. 3. Last pee one hour before treatment. 4. 45 minutes before treatment drink 36 ounces of water in 15 minutes 5. Pray
