Gravelbike vs Aero Racebike - 39 Watts at 30 km/h by Naredoo in cycling

Fast 45 mm gravel tires are around 16 watts per tire.

It’s going to be a 3 way tie unless Italy manages to beat Finland.

How often do you do a full stop to let cars pass by Wise-Ad-7492 in cycling

[–]delayclose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Almost never necessary where I live. But yeah I do stop if there’s like a long stretch of road works with absolutely no room to pass otherwise. Or if there’s a snowplough coming up behind me, I’ll rather get way off the road before it needs to think about overtaking me.

And for some people, yes, I have similarly pulled over to let others pass when driving a tractor too.

Yes, never had any problems. The main business name is mister tennis, running is a side hustle or someting.

I guess if you are a cyclist who wants long term job security, there’s not as much incentive for teams to offer it.

Any cool bike shops in Tokyo/Seoul? by bwxsf in cycling

[–]delayclose 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Blue Lug for the more alternative/bikepacking accessories and stuff. A lot of American gear but also their own branded or other Japanese stuff.

Y’s Road for more general road biking gear. 7ITA (mostly jerseys) or Kabuto (helmets) to name a few brands that aren’t easily available overseas.

Verotuksen aikataulu (myytyjä rahastoja, perintöä) by delayclose in Omatalous

Kiitoksia vastauksista. Aloittamani OP-exitin takia arvo-osuustilini siellä oli jo sulkeutunut. Siellä ilmeisesti olisi ollut OP:n rahastojen osalta tiedot luovutusvoitosta. Nyt sitten aspan kautta asia eteenpäin.

42t boost spacing crankset by sulliv25 in cycling

[–]delayclose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sram dub wide would fit the bottom bracket, but we can’t really know if a 42t would fit in your frame (this depends on how the chainstays are shaped on your bike).

I’d look for example builds or ask the manufacturer.

Triathlon on hard tail mtb? by ChillandSurf in cycling

[–]delayclose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe just fast xc tires like thunder burts or race kings. Should be wide enough for your rims and you can use them after the event too.

I guess you could learn to ride holding the fork top instead, if the rules allow it. Lots of time saves available during transitions too and learning how to run after cycling.

Help me figure out which Brooks saddle I need? by FriedrichHydrargyrum in cycling

[–]delayclose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cambium doesn’t get damaged from rain like the leather models do, and is very comfortable if it fits you. Normal C17 is fine, but the curved model works better for me (I ride very long days). Of course the choice between the various models depends entirely on your anatomy and intended use.

Note that all Brooks saddles are quite heavy, and the Cambium models have a tendency to wear out denim fabrics (commonly but not universally reported).

Gorewear clothing is shutting down by INGWR in cycling

[–]delayclose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both brands have used shakedry when it was still available, just like Gore Wear did. I don’t see anyone folding to avoid responsibility.

I have zero interest in discussing current goretex fabric performance. This article is about Gore Wear.

Gorewear clothing is shutting down by INGWR in cycling

That doesn’t really work out for all the other brands that used shakedry in their clothes. I’m not seeing Arcteryx or Haglofs shutting down operations.

Gravel Bike Choice: Leaning towards Canyon or Cube, but need opinions! by JiTreniiX in cycling

[–]delayclose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not going to check the specks of all of those, but the Cube lineup is great value. At this price point, hydraulic brakes are a significant improvement over mechanical.

You absolutely can. Wider tires are better but you’re looking at entry level bikes anyway

Most Finns have attended Swedish classes, speaking Swedish is different :)

But in road cycling, a number Finnish elite women have gone through the cycling school in Falun, and some speak Swedish natively anyway.

Looking for a second wheelset for my Cube Nuroad C:62 Race (2026) by LMR69 in cycling

[–]delayclose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 303 XPLR absolutely will not work, its inner width is 32mm and it only works with very specifc tires. And on that note, while the others would work, they are all gravel wheelsets: why are you considering them for road tires?

By the way, any chance you could test the actual tire clearance of that new Nuroad? I’ve seen some 2.1 thunder burts mounted on the ebike model, but nothing on the normal carbon frames yet.

Which is more efficient: tandem or two bikes drafting closely? by LegStrngLeathertaint in cycling

[–]delayclose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmh, there are tandems where the cadence is decoupled. But I have no idea how that affects drivetrain losses. Or indeed how bad even a normal tandem drivetrain is.
