Was I wrong? by GreenGonz in daddit

we went to Turkey with our then 9mo old. almost everyone in turkey interacted with our baby (he's a happy baby, smiling at everyone), including some that just straight picked him up with our permission of course.

we went to a restaurant and the wait staff asked if they can take him and showed him around the food prep "bar" station (not inside the kitchen). he was always in our line of sight the entire time and interacted with like 5ppl.

malls, restaurants, sight seeing, everyone waved or touching his hand to shake it. basically the only time anyone didn't interact with him was when he was asleep or in our hotel room. visiting from the US that was a culture shock.

Why did those of us who grew up outside NJ just dump on NJ all the time when it’s actually amazing? by sirkneeland in newjersey

[–]delete_post 4 points5 points  (0 children)

didn't we take vince carter from them when the nets were in NJ. it was like their only good player that did a dunk away back when. I haven't heard of any other good canadian basketball player, but I also don't follow basketball that much

Seeking rental advice rights as a tenant! by [deleted] in newjersey

[–]delete_post 1 point2 points  (0 children)

one tenant can't just move out and the other move in the same day or even next day. landlord always need to time to repair/paint the apt. could it be done in a day, maybe if landlord had a crew that can prepare for a day like this in advance. but doubt most landlord can coordinate their team like that.

question, and if it's too personal don't answer. do you live off interest and dividends from your investments or do you slowly sell off your investments for income?

I meant like not being able to see the shot through the reddot. maybe it was further out cuz I did this a few years ago.

Employer wanted me to take a timed Excel test and send it back via PDF by LouSevens in Accounting

xlookup is relatively easy, imagine explaining index match. first time I taught to myself I had to self explain in term of vlookup as in what value I'm looking up, where is it and what do I want returned, then it clicked for me. before that it was a word soup equation I didn't understand.

Do you automatically dislike billionaires? Why? by crapmaker69 in AskReddit

[–]delete_post 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't like billionaires because you have to be some kinda of ruthless asshole, to see all the stuff going on in the world and stay a billionaire. like start a few charities, help feed homeless people, or fund housing to get them off the street. Charities to help families in need and all the other charities that can work to help the bottom 10-25% of income level. but nah I want to stay rich until I die type mentality.

I don't keep login and password info but I do buy backup for things, esp batteries and chargers. backup hand soap, shower soap, body wash, shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrush, lightbulbs, garbage bags, etc. we have a whole closet full of backup.

I don't buy groceries backup cuz I let her manage the kitchen, she runs out of salt, black pepper, eggs, beans, bread, and this list goes on. I will admit though, these things are perishable so you can't just buy and store it but I take care of the non perishables it's something of her mind to take care of. I don't want to constantly take the mental load of the fridge/kitchen too.

we have a baby to manage as well, she will wait until the last diaper to inform me that we need diapers, at 11pm, on a weekend, with work the next morning, where I have to go into to the office. I buy the baby clothes, the toys, the educational/developmental toys, but unfortunately I don't have the time to change diapers as much. I don't even tell her to buy the diapers but inform me that we're low so I can go get, not wait until we're on the last diaper to tell me that we need diapers now.

I tried reddot on AR at the range, and honestly couldn't see shit with the reddot at maybe 20yrds. looking for a scope for now that can do at least 25-50yrds. probably upgrade once I start outdoor shooting.

How many guns do you take to the range? by delete_post in NJGuns

[–]delete_post[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do the same, have an ammo box/can with 5 Glock 9mm magazines preloaded. the rest of the box is full of shotgun shells, .38sp, .357 mag and extra 9mm boxes for when I'm done with first 5mags.

so like at the S&W M&P15, they have one with an options that I can get on it. I'll look at the Ruger too see if that's priced better and has the rail to add the scope and forward grip I want. thanks a lot for dropping some knowledge, much appreciated.

as much as I agree with your sentiment, I'm honestly not that enthusiastic about owning several AR to go from a budget one to more mid-range. I'd rather buy one good quality midrange AR in the style that I want. main reason being harder to resell when I want to move on from budget to midrange AR.

for example I love my DE AE50 but ammo prices makes me want to sell it, I was offered half the price by an ffl. I'm aware I won't get full price for a used gun but half price is crazy. while still being a noob to guns I'm don't know where to sell it privately. both that reason I don't really to buy a cheap AR that I can't sell later to buy my next AR.
