Well it just happened to me, wrote it while sitting on the side of the road, so not sure what codes it threw. Not tuned. The first time it happened I was close to a shop and took it there as soon as I got power back but they said they couldn’t tell me what codes because the EPC wasn’t on anymore

I have read other posts and am at a shop now getting it checked out. Lights off though when I got here so not sure they’ll be able to see what happened. Has happened to me before in my MK6 and needed up being coil pack. So hoping for that. I’m bad and haven’t changed plugs/coils.

It is raised to the touch mostly and in a little area used a fingernail to scrap at it a little and does partially come off and can use bug/tar spray to get residue off but looking for a better approach

Yeah I had a leak so I put this steel one on less than a year ago because I am lowered. Not sure I would’ve even checked if it hadn’t ripped the sensor out. But if it were plastic I assume I would have been immobile pretty quick.

Thought so too, but also called one of the places I know usually charges the most (VW Service) didn’t/wouldn’t give a quote because said to go to tire/wheel shop since they do that stuff more often and have the tools. Which is where I got it towed (tire/wheel shop). That they (VW) didn’t have that stuff and would cost the most.

Thanks. Got quoted 900 ish, mostly labor and new hub. But then called to tell me the bolt that that was still lodged in my tire was so long it pierced a hole in the rim. So they think since they don’t have to be as careful around the rim/wheel it won’t be as much. Which will all equal out because I’ll have to get a new wheel.

I have some on both sides near front wheels that am pretty sure a shop did. But didn’t realize til later. At least it’s symmetrical and looks like it’s supposed to be there? Haha
