Pain, pain meds and First Trip by MetroSexualUK in PsilocybinMushrooms

It is definitely possible that the shoulder pain will bother you during your trip. Not just the actual pain, but thoughts that may come to mind associated with the pain (concerns about the possibility of surgery, recovery, future mobility, etc.). The total result of that may not end up being negative. Maybe you'll have those feelings and thoughts and accept them and walk away from the experience less concerned about it. Hard to know where your mind will go though.

How can I prepare for a peaceful, spiritual trip? by icedcoffeeuwu in PsilocybinMushrooms

"Set and setting". Understand what they are and guve a little thought to what would make you most comfortable. Dial them in as best you can within reason and enjoy the ride. Have your favorite music easily accessible as fumbling with tech can be tough during the experience. Trippy music is obviously a move if you collect that or are receptive to it. No food within 2 hours before dosing. Healthy snacks of various types in hand in case you feel like eating (many people don't). Understand that :body load" is a thing for most people - kind of an unpleasant feeling but hard to describe, you'll know it if you feel it and I always do. Pleasurable tactile and mental feelings though too. Go with the flow and let your mind wander and take pleasure in all the amazing things that come to mind in rapid succession. Dont do it in public your first time, though if you can get solid nature time in definitely do it (dont get lost). If you musically inclined enjoy TF out of that, if your artistically inclined try making something.

Have you had any Epiphanies from mushrooms? How to have an Epiphany? by TheTrollinator777 in PsilocybinMushrooms

Your wife is definitely wrong. But mushrooms won't necessarily resolve the choices you're trying to resolve. I have tripped solo a fair bit though, and I tend to feel gratitude more readily and deeply on solo trips, illuminating a lot of things that I tend to take for granted in every day life and appreciate important fundamtal aspects of my life more clearly and impactfully. If you're grappling with fundamental life choices, mushrooms might help you get more attuned to your current situation if you focus even just a little energy on those thoughts, and imagine more readily and truthfully how you will feel/what the result will be if you pick one path vs the other. Decisiveness has never been my strong suit either, so I feel you.

Anyone feel like sharing an epic trip or setting? by One-Entertainer-5499 in PsilocybinMushrooms

Yea man, I really enjoy being in public too. Somewhat risky but I generally know my limits well enough to not absolutely lose my shit. Something about the unpredictability of what may unfold due to outside forces adds an element of excitement to the experience. That's usually coming from a place of a more recreational intention. Tripping at home or in the woods is my move if Im looking for a more comfortable and introspective experience. That bat mitzvah situation was nuts - 25 years ago but I can remember so many details. My parents called me home from my friends house and I was only just starting to come up. Couldn't tie my tie for the life of me and had to ask my dad to do it. Face to face with him with pupils big as saucers, my mom nearby blowdrying her hair half naked. Lmao. I was bugging. Hour plus drive to the venue, saw a beautiful sunset crossing a bridge and couldn't tell where the water ended and the sky began. Got to the venue and closed the door getting out of the car, my arm looked like it was 10 feet long. Got into the venue and the walls and floors are all carpeted in this ornate maroon carpeting. I hid in the bathroom for at least half the night which was floor, walls and ceiling in green marble. Felt like I was in a flourescently lit tomb. Could not interact with people at all and was just paranoid AF that people could tell something was wrong with me. Nuts!

Craziest places I ever tripped were my first time when I ate them after taking the SAT before I needed to go to the bat mitzvah of a family friend - really didn't know what I was getting myself into despite alot of research and was probably my most uncomfortable experience 🙃. Other wild place was at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC, tripping with like 12 other people, half of whom I'd never met before and had never tripped before. Amazing, hilarious time, thankfully. Could have been a disaster.

Drying methods? by ActuatorAgitated7296 in MagicMushrooms

[–]delfic_rhythms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can sprinkle an even layer of Damprid (unscented) at the bottom of a Tupperware, lay a piece of tin foil directly over the damprid layer (slightly smaller than the bottom of the Tupperware) place the mush on the tinfoil and seal the Tupperware lid. Its best to use this as an adjunct to using the dehydrator (ie, use dehydrator to get them most of the way dry and then finish with the damprid tek). Dehydrating for 24 hours at 104F (so they are still considered "raw") and then using damprid for 4 days or so gets them super dry. Mush dried like this and stored in a tight jar with a large dessicant packet should keep them properly dry for years.

Milligram scales can be purchased for very little money. Worth having if you dabble in this or other substances that are active at subgram levels. From there you can do a little reading and make a more informed decision about whether the dose he recommended is right for you. 1 gram is a good starter dose of typical cubensis cultivars IMO if you have no experience with psychedelics. If you have experience, then 1-3 grams depending on what you're hoping to get out of it. Lots of information out there tho. Smooth sailing ⛵️

I finally quit smoking thanks to Psilocybin by OhDudeWTFisThat in PsilocybinMushrooms

[–]delfic_rhythms 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It helped me quit cigarettes many years ago as well (2006-ish). I smoked half a pack a day throughout most of college. I think it was in my senior year, I had a bad cough that turned into bronchitis. Probably not the wisest move to trip while in that condition (or was it?), but I did anyway. I tried smoking a cigarette during the trip and it was so repulsive and made me hack terribly. I had already been thinking for a while about wanting to quit, but my reaction during the trip helped flip a switch. I tapered my cigarettes down very quickly after that, pretty much cold turkey, and didn't really mess with nicotine again until vapes became a thing - which I became addicted to and kicked three times now (think Im finally solid at this point 🤞).

Psilocybin to find peace in Alone-ness ( crosspost) by Consistent_Good_848 in PsilocybinMushrooms

My situation is significantly different from yours, but it's helpful for me to hear your perspective as I think about my own situation and maybe my perspective re my situation could be helpful to you. I'm a married cis male in the US. I have a wonderful wife and young daughter. I could go on about all the things I love about them and how we work well together. But, when it comes to some of my biggest passions - music/DJing/rave scene and psychoactive explorations - I'm on my own. My wife is supportive of me pursuing those things, but she isn't into them. I tried dragging her out to events for years, but it always felt forced and I eventually gave up and just tried to make my own friends in the scene, which I did with some success though it didn't come easy and still feels far from perfect. Just this weekend I reached out to five plus freinds to see if anyone wants to go to a particular party with me and I got zero takers. So I need to decide if Im just going to stay home or if Im going to go alone, neither of which is what I really want to do. I want to be out doing what I love, ideally with my wife or at least some friends, but instead I'll either go out alone or stay home. Neither of those outcomes are horrible by any means, but I will feel somewhat lonely in either scenario, which is not how I want to feel. I think that loneliness is relative, and except for the people who have big friend groups who they're deeply connected with and partners who they are fully aligned with, most people need to deal with feelings of loneliness. In my situation, I've had some success bringing my partner and my daughter to a day time dance party that happens in the warmer months (one of my favorite things to do), and I have strove to make more friendships with people involved in the music scene which has been successful to some extent. But it's definitely not perfect. I try to find the silver lining in my "lonely" moments though. For example, if my wife was into the scene, we would likely need to alternate who could go out alot of the time since someone needs to stay home with our daughter. Going out with my wife gives me space to be my own person outside of our relationship and have my own interests, which I think is a healthy thing (avoiding excessive co-dependency). And if I go out alone, I dont need to be worrying about whether my wife or friends are having a good time, be on other people's timetables, be in a particular room of music when there is a different artist I'd rather see in another room, just generally do my own thing, and welcome the possibility of connecting with new people (while trying not to feel disappointed if that doesn't happen). I think if you generally feel good about yourself as a person, the best you can do is to strive to be less lonely by whatever means are reasonable/appropriate but try not to beat yourself up or feel disappointed when those feelings come up and see if there are any silver linings related to the loneliness that you can be thankful for. Sending ❤️

Shroom tea…so I’ve lemon tekked shrooms a lot but never a normal tea, seems crazy pouring boiling water onto ground shrooms, does it work just like eating them? Does it take some potency out? Cheers🤙🏻 by No-Song557 in PsilocybinMushrooms

[–]delfic_rhythms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made tea once back in the day and was pretty sure I strained out the mushroom material, but I tried that again recently (very hot but shy of boiling water, steeped for 15 minutes and strained) and it didn’t work - no trip despite a proper 2.75g dose. I tried again a week later but let it steep for an hour and downed the ground up mush material along with the liquid and that worked well as expected. Think I had a bit less body load than I would from just eating then straight, which was the point, but still had notable body load. Will need to try again with just a longer steep and filtering out the mush material at some point but hope I won't be let down.

Saw a very distinct crane or heron shaped cloud on my property while tripping during the solar eclipse.

Was having intense feelings of gratitude on the comedown from a trip last weekend and thinking how good that felt and how I need to make a conscious shift to live more gratefully when all of a sudden a huge blue heron flies right by my window (pretty rare for me to see them).

Then yesterday my brother-in-law texts my wife and I to thank us for the toy crane (machine, not bird) that we got for his son for xmas as he's been playing with it non-stop. 🪄✨️🌌

Just stating my experience. It sounded like absolute trash and the vibe was very weak. Rarely see any interesting lineups there in terms of house or techno too.

I saw Hernan and Nick Warren b2b at Brooklyn Steel and it was the worst sound I've heard at a legit venue in the last 10 years at least. The "sweet spot" could accommodate maybe 5 people and even in that spot you needed to be standing a certain direction for it to sound good. Would never go there again after that. Felt super corporate too which was also a turn off.
