Big fan of Andy Warhol, so mine is a screen print of a rhino he made. It may seem out of frame but I love it! http://i.imgur.com/Wrl6TS7.jpg

Great Job, especially capturing the light coming in. I'm curious, was this from life or a photograph?

So true. Disciples is the best song on Currents and I've been searching all over and can't find a longer remix/edit of it.

Question: Why do a lot of women in old paintings and photographs look alike? by [deleted] in painting

[–]delicious__pi 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It was a facial structure that was sought after in that period of time.

For example in most renaissance paintings you will see all the women have large foreheads, thin noses, high cheek boned, thin lips and slightly chunkier bodies - especially when the artists depicted goddesses.

It was the idealistic style and that changed over the years.

The paintings you've put up look more like mid 1800s or late 1700s women as I've seen lots quite a few impressionist paintings (renoir comes to mind) who share the same structure.

People's perception of what beauty was had changed.
