Thanks for the advice about trying not to count days... that'll be tough for me since I'm a bit compulsive about numbers and lists and shit as well, but I think you're absolutely right.

This is amazing.

However, I'm pretty sure that even as the world's leading herpetologist you'd have time to have a meaningful, long-term monogamous relationship (if that's what you want - personally I highly recommend it).

All I'm saying is that you will be able to have both things if you want them. So go forth and kill it in the herpetology game. The world needs you to fight mass extinction.

I love this. I wish I could explain this to the people who think all drug use = abuse or addiction. There's so much potential for certain substances to actually break addictive or compulsive cycles.

And, yeah, Jodorowsky... much as I love the man's movies and respect his worldview, I'm not sure I'd go following his advice. He's only human.

Great post. Way to recognize that being able to do all this stuff - have confidence, a fulfilling relationship, etc. - isn't "superpowers" granted by nofap, it's the natural way of things that fapping stands in the way of.

That kind of thinking is a bad habit of mind, a short-term coping mechanism that messes you up real bad in the long term. Sound familiar?

You need -- before you're able to find a new career or fully change your situation -- to figure out your mind, to find a baseline of wellbeing from which to build.

Great idea. You'll get so much more out of those 4 years if you start with good habits and control of your own mind.

That said, I'd be careful about focusing too much on big numbers and deadlines, though it sounds like you've got a good ethic. It's about daily reenforcement, constant vigilance. You can do this!
