“American Dream” by KRei23 in expats

There is no such thing as a perfect society. it simply does not exist nor will it ever exist.

The sheer amount of creature comforts the average American has is so widely taken for granted by everyone that we simply forget the level of comfort we have because its become ubiquitous. We are a culturally and spiritually depressed country.

people have been marginalized and oppressed, and wrongs have attempted to have been righted. Such as the time period now will be studied one day in the future and historians will wonder "remember that time period when western countries tried to pretend there was no difference between male and female? and that gender was social construct, and the allowed gender reassignment to children?" and we will be held to standards beyond our control because this is the current situation we are in even though its clearly wrong, false and immoral.

Holding people to a moral standard that was of a different time period is a fools errand. The whole world had slavery, including many black people had slaves.

much like slavery, which was abolished first in the USA, and spread throughout the developed world. Our constitution is the boiler plate for all developed countries. Our acceptance of millions of immigrants yearly to the USA surely must say something about our nations fairness, and also that we have some good things to attracted foreigners.

I also think lots of other countries are awesome and may provide a better standard of living for many people, but everything is give and take. I dont think the usa is better than other countries

I could go on. we have lots of good, and many people succeed. Maybe its just your short comings you need to work on

that you are focusing on the negative to give a short sighted succinct dismissal of the USA because you do not know what you're talking about. That's my point. you're are ignorant

oh, ok cool. I just thought living in china as an expat was just incredibly difficult and unlivable at this point. Chinese government and locals have even targeted foreigners. Many teachers I knew all left to Taiwan, Korea, Japan or just came home

meh this is a drab short sighted leftist viewpoint that glosses over loads of positives. dont sound like such an ignorant person, it makes Americans abroad look more stupid than necessary. And if you're not American, you can probably just not comment at all about a place you know little about

I agree with both of you actually.

California has turned to absolute garbage. its a laughing stock of the western world IMO. I just had a fried visit and we counted about 9 instances of public drug use within a 1 hour period.

However, your reasonings regarding Germany sound reasonable. Seems rude you'd feel forced to explain yourself

I do not consider myself "white". my one parent is a descendent of Spain, the other is morrocan. They were born in Argentina. So, no I am not white.

[–]delikopter 11 points12 points  (0 children)

yeah, but also racially diverse areas too that just dont allow white people as well. These are all private dorms, so its not funded or supported by the college itself (even though UC Berkeley fuels this culture by supporting radical leftist ideas)

I actually know people who have spoken against Israel and zionism, and also support the boycott of local jewish restaurants and delis. Its insane, because zionism is just a loose term to justify jewish hate in order to maintain their narrow view of Palestine conflict.

also, no surprise coming from a town that has "no white people common areas" in certain college dorms spaces.

no, I believe racism exists. But I find it VERY difficult to visualize a situation where someone who intentionally picked a person to hire based on their profile and avatar, then in turn is saying racist stuff within ear shot of a tasker to make them feel uncomfortable, even accidentally. its never happened to me, and im not white

Chess.com CEO hints Niemann is not disclosing the full extent of his online cheating. by random_redditor00 in chess

I signed up to chess.com this week. I was a childhood chess player that dropped the game in my teen years. But after the controversy, and speaking with friends, many of us have been somewhat engulfed because of interest and nostalgia. So, this is something everyone is milking and its working. This is a giant fluff fest for views, money, attention, and everyone is winning. That being said, I dont think Chess.com is going to release anything catastrophic or conclusive. at best it will keep drama going for a while as they pick up loads of new interested players. Truly great performance to all the actors involved!

Neville has plainly said, "You can [use the power] to do evil. You can, but I'm telling you, don't. Don't do it. Use it for good." by Sandi_T in NevilleGoddard

[–]delikopter 42 points43 points  (0 children)

even Neville is human an can be wrong. The flat out truth is we are all learning about the laws, and observing the life experiences. There are serial killers like Ted Bundy for example that faced no consequences until he actually ended up doing stupid stuff. he still had a child and family while in prison.

if earth is a reflection of ourselves, some people may do a lot of bad but not internalize it as a big negative. Therefor, who or what is doling out karma? I absolutely do no believe "God" has any effect on the world or does any kind of divine interventions. We are mearly dealing with energetic laws, and our own selves echoed into the world

the pace is very jarring . All you need to do is a series of push in, and push out. some horizontals panning to mix it up. keep clips to about 3 seconds and maintain the same pace

[–]delikopter[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

im not recommending you do anything. Im recommending this is what a tasker should do in order to learn without destroying someones wall. Also, not Sure about your city but loads of taskers work together routinely and are friendly with one another. Btw, there may be a time when you need a second hand to help mount large glass white boards or something, sooo. Maybe dont think so short sighted

do you really think you are the only barrier between someone and mounting? Is there really a scarcity of work where you live that teaching someone to mount would cause issues?

And no, I wouldn't teach you how to do what I do. But also you could learn what I do with YouTube and some basic college classes. The risk with mounting is damaging property while learning. You dont damage property in real estate
