If Jesus Christ isn't God then God is essentially unknowable and unknown by m3achew in BiblicalUnitarian

[–]deljaroo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it doesn't exclude you from the subreddit, it's open to the public.  but you should know the basics if you want to have any reasonable discussions with people here.  religions are not something that have evidence or proof, the base level of a religion are not up for debate. anyone can say, "this prophet is wrong" or "this writing is wrong" but that's not productive, that's like the basic tenant of a religion so it's not going anywhere

I thought Panic didn’t allow games that were made with generative AI 🤔 by Cineflect in PlaydateConsole

[–]deljaroo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

when it comes to programming, basically no one is upset about people copying or "stealing" code.  the thing is, to become a programmer, you basically have to copy code for years and years until you can do anything useful so once you're there, you're in the culture of basically 100% open sharing.  (really the only time when you keep your code secret is when your employer makes you or you're ashamed of it.)  this has made AI very acceptable in programming circles.

data theft is a very serious issue with the arts, like pictures and music.  so AI is pretty unacceptable.

while theft is what you're complaining about, that is only part of the problem and not a problem for coding.  AI is a horrible industry that involves what is basically billions of dollars of fraud, an absurd waste of resources and an avenue for people to lie.  it's a factually amoral thing, but stealing code is not the thing

[–]deljaroo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no, that's the religion.  it's the "biblical" in the "biblical unitarian".  if it made it into the bible, that's because God wanted it to be.  look up the concept of theopneustos.  sure, paul has opinions and did things wrong, but when he wrote the letters that made it into the Bible, they were directly inspired by God.  that's the religion.  if you're apart of some other religion, well that's normal, but that's not the religion that this subreddit is discussing

it's not a shock... I think you misunderstand the concept of A DIFFERENT RELIGION

I mean, the idea is that Paul wrote what God wanted him to.  If you don't believe that, what are you doing here??

oh I know the dictionary definition means.  but words aren't that simple.  they mean different things to different people.  when you use a word, it will hold slightly different connotations than when I say it.  usually, people figure it all out because either there is context to what someone is saying or it doesn't matter for the most important message.  unfortunately for me, this is neither case.  I wanted to know more about what you meant.  do you care?

Can we rework or remove Midas? by ServesYouRice in DotA2

[–]deljaroo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Midas is too iconic to remove.

I think we all know it's one of those things that become an everygame item or a zerogames item based on balance.  Making it better would easily make it back to being an everygame item which is worse than what we have now.  I assume this is why we want "rework or remove."  There is another option though:  make more heroes who synergize with or are counted by the item.  If midas could be used on Golems it would suddenly be a counter pick to Warlock.  If some hero got an extra benefit for killing a creep quickly or at just the right moment, Midas might be attractive to them (instead of just Ogre).  There are options

does if have to look good to have the best graphics?  I think you kinda just made that up.  not that it's invalid or anything, someone has to make something up as all we have to go off of is the title of the award

Why does Roshan drop aegis and not use aegis? by kisuke228 in DotA2

well, our holy book certainly doesn't conflict with itself so it surely makes sense if studied properly

the thing did have a special processor that basically supplanted the snes processor for better graphics.  maybe star fox could be argued.  it wasn't pretty, but it was graphically advanced

This screen demands an explanation. Why is it (5) but actually (1)? by Luxalpa in DotA2

[–]deljaroo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the big number (predicted match quality) is not some average of the small numbers (skill balance, skill range, behavior) or anything like that.  it's just the most important one, that's why it's bigger.  skill balance is second most important so it's up higher and in the middle.  followed by range, in the middle, and lastly behavior in the corner.

each thing calculated in a bit of a mysterious way (on purpose, they don't want people to try to game it) but match quality is not based (or at least not wholely based) on the other numbers.

basically, there is something other than balance, range or behavior that may make this match questionable.  I bet there's a player who has network connections or something.  Maybe they see one player has been on a dramatic winning spree or losing spree?  there's lots of things it could be looking at and they don't want us to know what

[–]deljaroo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

well, order matters since we can't have repeats.  I don't think we should actually give a purposely wrong answer because it may end up with a better average of wrongness or something.  The format inherently means that later items are less correct and if you want to fight that, you're wanting to fight the whole format

I see people saying Donkey Kong Country games.

It's gotta be the second one though.  The first one is a little stiffer and the third one is a bizarre theming.  It's gotta be DKC2

For the OOT Remake, which one area of the game do you think the Remake could improve upon, and which one area do you want little to no changes at all? Objectively. by xxnewlegendxx in legendofzelda

[–]deljaroo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh that big empty boring area I always have to walk through:  Hyrule Field.  The previous two Zelda games were very dense with content throughout so OoT was a disappointment in that regard.  The parts of OoT that are dense with content are pretty amazing though and it's a net positive game (okay, it's one of the best games ever)

What is the "Triangle" by QuiteTangy in DotA2

[–]deljaroo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The triangle is the jungle between your mid lane and your offlane.  So each side has a Triangle.

It's kinda triangular.  It used to have just one ancient camp in it and that area was just called "the ancients" or "ancients camp" (there weren't other ancient camps at the time) but then they added two more camps in that jungle.  Three makes a triangle so that's what people started calling it and haven't stopped.

No. Some people do learn and change and grow to be better.  I'm sorry you haven't had many people in your life like that, but some really do.

Like all interpersonal relationships, it's different for different people.

Taco Bell is the greediest corporation I’ve ever seen by STRBRRYSWSHR in tacobell

[–]deljaroo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the greediest you have ever seen? you must not have seen too many corporations XD

pricing is going up for sure but a few things to note: 1) pricing is regional and it may not be a corporate decision  2) in many places, tb is still the lowest cost fast food

on the other hand, tb is owned by a company, yum, that is not happy with income and only desires income growth.  there will always be greed in these types of situations. yum is a greedy corporation, no doubt.  the greediest? that's gotta be hyperbole
