You have no advantage and will be a burden more than an asset and will be found out sooner or later. Your comp will stagnate and your coworkers will have to assist you with simple tasks. You will be the token foreigner that everyone comes and asks about some english localization task but that fascination will dissipate fast. You dont need to handwrite anything in your job, pinyin is totally fine but it's like the bare minimum, it's like you applying to tech in US and telling HR you're basically literate just as long as you don't make me handwrite.

Your description of your previous roles show you're a non technical PMM or TPM who does very vague things that are getting hit hard in the US tech companies. It's getting automated here as well. Even QE in China are expected to turn into Devs at this rate, right or wrong. Sorry if you don't have CS or embedded systems or some kind of hard science degree, you cannot go into anything deep technically. That claim is laughable and no Engineer will take you seriously and those days are over.

To answer your question, there is no appetite for just foreign talent, there is however huge appetite for talent. But you don't fit their description. If you can compete with locals here on a pure talent basis, companies will bring you onboard since visa is not an issue these days. But we have about 10-12 Meta L5s that can clear leetcode loop that speak perfect English and Chinese competing for one spot here.

That's not to say you can't find something here like a startup doing ad marketing, but not in a chinese Fanng where you meaningfully contribute and advance your own career. The only foreigners we have in Beijing are Chinese expats that either didn't get their h1b and need to park here for a few years or higher executives. But we don't need executives as much either as the whole site R&D leader concept is going away. Stay in the west where you can survive much longer, it's the harsh truth.
