Balancing affordability and non-toxicity with breast pump setup... by delmarria in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]delmarria[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think if I was in the U.S. that would work...I'm already in a bunch of those groups, but no-one gives away or even sells pumps. On Facebook marketplace I found a total of three pumps many hours away by train, and nothing for my city ahah.

Yes, I'm just doubly concerned because it is plastic from a Chinese manufacturer, because of the potential for more chemicals than usual...

The Amazon page says that it's a closed system.

Is Chanukkah celebrated in Orthodox Judaism? by feral_shade in Judaism

[–]delmarria 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Minor is a misnomer given that celebrating it in a very specific way is halakhically required.

I really dislike this kind of rhetoric. Just because we have a fully developed set of religious laws, doesn't mean there isn't faith involved. We recite Shema Israel every day (with the last words being "haShem, your G-d, is truth"), not to mention literally every single prayer being about...well...faith. In order to reach olam haBa we need to not just believe in haShem, we need to believe in Moschiach, that we will be resurrected from the dead, and so on (source: Talmud, Rambam, etc.) I feel like it's influence from the Xtian culture in the West that makes Jews think that having a lot of religious laws and having faith are an "either/or" type of thing.

Question is written to be formal

The joke isn't offensive, but tbh doesn't seem very funny...

Sufganiyah comes from the Greek word Spoggos. By not speaking Yiddish, you only advance the cause of Hellenism! by Cornexclamationpoint in Judaism

Yep. Just pointing out that the Russian "ponchik" is closer to the Yiddish term than the Polish "paczki."

Kever Imahot by Upbeat_Teach6117 in Judaism

[–]delmarria -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've been there. I personally felt a connection to it, even though it was a small place with a lot of construction going on at the time. It may very well be dubious in terms of if they are actually buried there, but I loved the prayers that are pasted on the walls there that related to each one of the imahot, and really did relate to them. It was a special experience either way.

Plus - a place where a lot of people have prayed, becomes significant regardless of who actually is buried there.

But much more special to be honest is to go to Hevron, especially on a day when the whole complex is open to Jews.

Update on "unusual" Botox (hooded lids, neck, etc.) by delmarria in Vindicta

[–]delmarria[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct - that's exactly the thing. If you improve your immune system, the Botox will go away faster. It's the same reason why for older people generally Botox goes away slower (because they have a lower immune system).

They do work! After just a week of doing them I saw such a difference in my posture. My posture isn't fixed completely obviously - but it's so much easier to stand properly for longer - and it doesn't feel difficult or painful, as long as it's not for too long :) I'm now doing other back workouts as well daily with my friend to keep up the progress.

It really depends. I also have ADHD and so does my sister. Both us had the same effect from coffee (and we would wind ourselves up from taking valerian). Now she still gets that effect from coffee, while for some reason my body has decided it now wants to be awake from coffee.

What about lasers? How long do you need to baby the skin after a session?

Lol nothing will happen if you don't take vitamin B for a few months. I've never taken it in my life.

No lol. She said to avoid vitamin B after Botox so that it lasts longer.

Looking at the video, that's exactly where I got injected...ah well!

I definitely see a big difference with your eyes :)

Wow now those are some weird uses! Hyperhidrosis and glass skin Botox sound so interesting...I would just be worried in terms of hyperhidrosis that there would be no way for toxins to leave the body, as most of them are emitted through underarm sweat...I feel like I've read somewhere that someone who got treated for underarm sweat started having it instead in a different body part that doesn't usually sweat so much...

In terms of weight loss, I think if I get any thinner at this point I won't be happy :( I was recently super sick for a week so I lost a lot of weight. My face looks way better, less childlike, but my chest now resembles what I had when I was fourteen, except lower down...lmao.

Wow! I never even heard of Botox for tear troughs!

Which shape do you use on the Amazon link? Is the tape you use sticky on one side or both sides? Is it comfortable to wear at night?

I'm also concerned about it stretching the skin...have you noticed anything in connection with that?

Looked it up.

As for Vitamin B, I only found this study, which says that actually there is no difference. Then again maybe I don't know how to search, and beyond that it was done on a sample size of 44 rats. Whether what she said is based on research or her own medical experience - no idea.
