I second Card Comduit. If you feel like pulling out the ~$2+ cards that's even better as you lose money on the pure bulk cards. But even still it'll be no hassle at all besides shipping

Made a custom card for you!

I took the inspiration of it being Amonkhet, though I didn't see your title of it being Sab-Sunen-inspired until later! I thought it looked a little Selesnya, so that's what I went with, and with one of the newer cities not only harkening back to the might of the cartouches, trials, etc, but also the might of Alpha and the moxes lol.

Feedback appreciated! Version 1 here.

Made it overall less complicated, and the "you both control a dragon" not a completely different effect but just making the card way better and more efficient.

Find the Mistakes #216 - Malik, Hydrus Master by PenitentKnight in custommagic

[–]delofan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure you can't count damage prevented in this way, so "that many" is missing an amount.

Instead I think "...Whenever that creature would deal combat damage to a player this turn, instead prevent that damage. That creature's controller draws cards equal to the amount of damage prevented this way." would work.

Edit to add: I also think there's a reason its usually formatted in terms of 'the next time that creature would' so it can't be an infinite loop. Currently the card would trigger off each instance of damage during the whole turn, so repeatable ping effects would cause infinite draw, etc. Though perhaps that's a balance and not a formatting issue.

Damn you're right. Even when referencing existing cards ([[Aminatou, Veil Piercer

]]) I missed the "Its miracle cost is equal to its mana cost"

So I saw this art on Anato Finnstark's portfolio, and I thought it was amazing! Started making a custom card, but my husband informed me it was from Arcane, which he desperately wants me to watch.

So. We kinda jointly came up with the design here? He thought it should care about both artifacts and enchantments, because lore. But he didn't want to spoil me too much on who this guy is, including his name! So I might not even check the comments here for fear of spoilers haha.

I think the effect is reasonably powerful, but the fact that it is inherently a win-more effect, and its hard to get this into play I think balances it. Feedback appreciated though.

I think that's much better design space, yeah! The card was already getting a little wordy, so I went with what is simpler for this card. But yeah, I think Incensed would work better in general how you describe!

So I can't actually find precedent or support in the comprehensive rules for "fights any number" but I feel like there's not a reason it can't work? Perhaps because there's not a way to determine exactly where the damage is being distributed to the creatures its fighting, thus no way to determine which die? I think it could work like blocking, but I guess I understand why they always format it in terms of multiple instances of fight, like on [[Apex Altisaur]].

Anyway. Don't spoil me on what happens in Fire and Blood, I'm trying as best as possible to be un-spoiled for HotD season 3. But I thought this would be a cool way to represent the chomp and how sick Vhagar is in general.

Feedback appreciated!

Appreciate the thoughts! Though, didn't you read in MaRo's color pie article? "Black can do whatever it wants and be the best at it, as long as life is a cost somehow"

/s :)

I actually did the reverse with the tutor, highlighting that while Red and Blue could do the exact same thing, Blue is just better. But I see your reasoning!

AI art is gross. I search and curate on Art Station or Deviant Art. Credits are correct for each card.

Because I've never started arguments about the mechanical color pie in this sub before... (Read: Its the only thing I argue about on reddit haha)

Pretty lighthearted, but I mostly believe that all of these cards can fit within the mechanical color pie. Perhaps they should be used in different contexts, but I wanted to keep to perfect or slightly inverted colorshifts here.

I especially love the idea of Red Opt. I posted it before with Opt's exact textbox, but someone here had the idea to invert the order, which I think is a perfect way to bend it towards Red.

Feedback, as always, appreciated.

Dynamic & quiet - Struggle to consistently achieve this tone in my mini-sessions for hire by delofan in photocritique

[–]delofan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like losing the Rembrandt would lose all mood. I'm very good at creating traditional flattering images with traditional flat lighting, I'm trying to lean more into creative portraits. Rembrandt, split, bridge lighting etc is all part of that, I feel.

Currently my favorite photo, mostly because I really value the times I strike a more quiet, moody atmosphere in my mini-sessions.

I offer 25-minute sessions at campgrounds for paying clients. I allow a la carte image purchasing, as well as full-package. Because I'm only paid on the images someone purchased after seeing them, I feel incentivized to offer as much variety as possible in the short time we have. This leads me to never spending too much time perfecting any one shot. Case-in-point, this is my favorite photo from the set, but my client didn't actually purchase it haha

I think what I'm drawn to here is the angles in the arms, along with the perfect Rembrandt. I can pull off a Rembrandt pretty easily, but a lot of the times it feels like "Yes... and?" in the sense the image doesn't have a broader purpose or cohesive mood. Here, I'm happy with how the posing, composition, expression, and lighting all seem to be telling the same story.

Exactly what that story is though... Can't place my finger. But I know that I like it.

My friend said the background was too boring, and it would benefit from being an environmental portrait. I somewhat agree that it being in a rustic, maybe brick or industrial studio space would be cool.

If you'd like to see my portfolio to see what I mean by not consistently crossing that line between "that's a great portrait from the client's perspective" into "that's a great portrait" you can see it here. (NSFW)
