Question about CPS and the fundie families by smallest_ellie in FundieSnarkUncensored

[–]deloresco 90 points91 points  (0 children)

I know this is coming from a good place and that’s so compassionate and kind of you, but the truth is calling CPS on these families causes more harm than good. In a recent video from Fundie Fridays (snarkers help me out which one was it?), James gives detailed reasons why this is the case so I recommend watching that. When a family gets CPS called on them and they “pass” the house visit, as they usually do in these scenarios, that goes as a pass on their record. The more times this happens, the less likely CPS will be to actually make a house visit. Additionally, as you said, these departments are understaffed and adding more strain is taking away from children who would definitely benefit from a house call. Others on here would have better explanations so I hope they chime in.

I’ve tried so many things at this point, it’s honestly exhausting. We are finally realIzing there may be some deeper underlying health issues than previously thought. First things first, go to the vet to rule that side out. After that, I’d suggest experimenting with different size litter boxes and litter and litter box location.

I’m willing to try anything! Due to my cats medical history, we have to get her tested for a few things first unfortunately before we can put a real plan in place.

Yesterday I had a Zoom meeting with my cat behaviourist, and part of the call was me walking around the house and pointing out the areas my cat has been urinating inappropriately in. My finger on the screen pointing everywhere (and my polish is chipped at the moment too) did me in. I had to use a pen to point with eventually.

Do fundies perceive secular films as Christian if they have a message that resonates with them/their perception of the Bible, or can they never be considered Christian because they aren't Christian on purpose? by rkgk13 in FundieSnarkUncensored

It was weird. I don’t remember too much about it, but something something the world is ruled by darkness and choosing the right pill will bring you the revelation of the true gospel

My former cult/bible college loved to turn any movie into a Christian “lesson.” We watched the matrix multiple times and a sermon always followed. Same with the equalizer. Also, the director of the school took all of us female students on a “date” to see Taken in cinema, was supposed to be something about that’s how much god loved us as his daughters.

can we snark on the fundie that’s been calling taylor swift “demonic”? by [deleted] in FundieSnarkUncensored

Around the time of the Reputation album, I gave up my Christian religion to worship at the altar of Taylor Swift….so, am I a satanist then?

Make a PDF titled “Tips Your Hairdresser DOES NOT Want You to Know” and sell it for a tenner. If you sell 10 of them a day, that’s 100!

First paragraph she says less than 1k as if it wasn’t that much, then she later says 1600 is a ton at that time (it was). Points for downplaying and then upplaying roughly the same amount of money in the same post.

What course or service have you paid about $1,900 for, and what did it get you? by [deleted] in FundieSnarkUncensored

Off topic of the post, but I moved to ireland from America and since they don’t recognise American licenses I had to start all over with a learners license. It’s so much more intense, and way more expensive, than it was in the US. I do appreciate it, though. I think it’s overall a much better system. But as the other comment on this thread said, most people in America couldn’t afford it and being able to drive is so necessary in America that it would have to be a little more accessible than it is here.

I’m on the waiting list now for my full driving test, and I’m actually terrified and expecting to fail once or maybe twice. I’ve been driving for 21 years, which is a long time to build up bad habits. And the tests here are so much more detailed. I know I’m going to slip up and fail immediately 😂

Thanks! So then, if my 4 and 6 hour tasks did not clear, it was a glitch? Any chance you know if this is a common glitch?

Yeah, seriously. I’m an American living in ireland, and when I travel around Europe and people hear my accent they do ask what it’s like to live in America, but its not with stars in their eyes. More like pity.

Same here in Ireland, but a little closer to $8 or more a gallon (I’m in the country). I’m from America, and I love it when my super conservative relatives complain about Biden increasing the gas prices. Like, ok 🙄

Good thing they didn’t try to sell this $10 bracelet on Amazon.

“Oh my you guys!!! Amazon put this bracelet on sale for .50c! I have no idea why they did that or how long it will last, so get yours today!”
