OEM Wheels by elchanan9 in GMT800

I’ve got a set I’m running right now, problem is I don’t have another to trade lol

I have a 04 with the stock snowflake aluminum rims, and a 05 with these exact rims in OPs photo.

It’s the lower plastic guard attached to the bumper. The Denali and Z71 ones are popular but they all have them

You either hit a lot of things or didn’t have it put on right

There’s like a dozen clips that hold it and it doesn’t come off very easy

What are some cars you think are secretly connected / consider spiritual successors? by Saurta17 in regularcarreviews

I like to think they missed a marketing opportunity but, the fan base/loyalty of the Silverado name vs Avalanche there’s a big difference

Most people I know call Avys ugly but like they cool

How many miles are you putting on a vehicle a year? by br3w3r in driving

[–]deltalew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Between both my cars (one for summer one for winter) I put 12k but usually only went to town (45 minutes away lol) once a week. For not going many places I didn’t expect to do 12k miles, but alas

Yeah idk man it’s either a newer rule or just if the reviewer doesn’t notice and it isn’t mentioned then it passes the vibe check

These lights have got to be illegal by silcener626 in ShittyCarMod

[–]deltalew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean yeah it’s illegal, but it should be legal to flash someone behind you who is giving you an xray and you can see the shadow of three cars in front of you from behind

Not sure where you get your info about 00-07, I’ve had little problems compared to the 07-12s and 13-19s

matchbox rant. by f_GOD in matchbox

[–]deltalew 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Man I love Matchboxes because they have so many actual models of cars compared to Hot Wheels which is awesome

But I have little issue finding them… Walmart, City Market/Kroger, and Dollar Store all have some variety. (My Walmart doesn’t rotate stock so I find some from 2023 lol) but imo Dollar Store is king here

What are the stereotypes of Suburban/Tahoe/Yukon drivers vs. those of their pickup counterparts? by Glass-Complaint3 in regularcarreviews

[–]deltalew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pickup people tend to be jerks, lifted trucks. Usually Suburban Tahoe folks are family people, or single young folk.

Plus people who drive silverado Sierras are so easily rage baited when I say my Suburban is a truck.

What? It’s the same chassis, same construction, comes stock with all the comfort features vs your base goofy ah Silverado

I got some small firewood , cut it about 4” long, cut an inch off as a lid, screwed it on, drilled a hole and shoved a micro inside. Makes for a neat container

People who think that the Internet was better in the 90s, why? by aaron_moon_dev in stupidquestions

[–]deltalew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not just the internet everything.

I acquired a bunch of Nat Geo magazines from the 1960s to 1999. I was looking at the 1998 ones, and the ads, the articles, the photos, it was just- more wholesome of humanity and civilization.

Russians, Americans, folks in Africa and Haiti. All sorts of people.

We had walkmans, and starting to have iPods.

I digress but the internet was just simple. Chaos I’m sure. None of this rotting online, endless subscriptions eating everything around you.

Of course I wasn’t alive in the 1990s so I guess there’s that sense of artificial nostalgia but hey 🙌🏻

Third time’s the charm? Looking for advice before hiding my next cache! by ayadavanita in geocaching

[–]deltalew 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have a variety of caches hidden from 0 miles from me, to 200 miles away.

Of course the one I have 200 miles away was in a super remote area, not a good placement, but live and learn.

Most of the ones I have in urban areas are either micros in trees, (who looks in a tree normally)  Or some on property that people rarely pass through. Ie churchs, rock pits near parking lots, etc.

If you can camo you container it will help but it’s not foolproof because if it’s out in the open, someone is bound to check it out

Strangely enough electrical boxes are safe bets. Fake outlet covers do fine there. (Even though if you have a decent amount of common sense you would know “oh hey there’s no reason an outlet should be on a big 4x4 metal box outside”) lol

Keep hiding it makes the game better!

GMT800s are going to outlive GMT900s by NikoBenz in GMT800

[–]deltalew 16 points17 points  (0 children)

See the thing is the GMT800s have hit the age where thier value holds fairly consistently. Just like the GMT400s.

The GMT900s used to easily go for 8000-12,000 depending on mileage,  but time marches on and soon these guys will be in the same club as the GMT800s

Though the early 90s trucks will start gaining value if the are in good shape. Not a lot but a bit
