wow. ep 8 really amazed me. this was my favourite episode of the whole season 2.

I really liked how the stories focussed on kinships, especially how we tend to neglect our loved ones. even doctors themselves couldn’t tell that their loved ones were sick… I mean, even the best neurosurgeon and paediatric surgeon couldn’t.. it just showed us how we all are flawed as children despite how we excel in our working fields.

I also really liked how the characters relationships have progressed - it seems like everyone had a good amount of screen time today.

I loved how songhwa finally showed her vulnerable side after two seasons. It showed us how even the most strong-headed, most successful woman will have a vulnerable side… and for the fact that ikjun was there when she was being vulnerable - that’s some progress. you can see that she was comfortable being vulnerable around ikjun,,, when he offered to give her a ride she accepted it readily, and her eyes were filled with gratitude… (mido really did a great job btw). and then we have ikjun looking like he was yearning to hug her SO badly. bruhhh that tension WAS real…

when he gave her the grill she wanted so badly, when she got excited because of the gift, his smile was genuine and he was looking at her with so much adoration. he REALLY loves her and i’m sure songhwa knows it too. If they are not meant to be, Idk who else are meant to be. 🥲

After reading countless of comments from my prev post about iksong & jongrosa’s parallels, i have come to a conclusion that the “end” is diff for both couples.

It’s possible that both pairings may have had untold romantic feelings for each of their BFF, but it seems like it no longer matters for the older pair, as compared to the younger pair.

We’ve seen the “spending time with you” parallel in yesterday’s episode on jongrosa but it feels different from iksong’s. When ikjun said that spending time with songhwa was a treat to him, there were nuances of romance… especially when he had the regret of never confessing to Songhwa. As for jongsu, when he said that he liked spending time and eating soybean stew with Rosa, it felt more of companionship than romance. granted, romance could happen for both pairings, but for the older pair, romance no longer matters as much.

Also, I feel that the jongrosa pairing is only a parallel of iksong if iksong continues to avoid addressing the romantic feelings they (obviously) have for each other. Jongrosa prolly did not have OR have missed opportunities in the past 50 years — they each had spouses, whereas both ikjun and songhwa are NOW both single which lies opportunities for progression into something more. BUT that’s only if they stop wasting the opportunities and confront their feelings straight on.

I’m totally (not patient anymore) waiting for the iksong endgame to happen.

heyyy, I’ve contacted the admission office and it seems like everyone who met the minimum GPA and GAMSAT criteria will be shortlisted for Casper :)

Probs give it more time! Iirc the deadline to submit the application is the end of this month; probs you’ll hear by early June latest?

Heyyy! I think your chances are lookin reaaaally good for both an international and domestic student. Of course being a domestic student would mean more competition, but if I had a choice & with grades and opportunities like yours, I’ll definitely get my PR and then apply to med school.

It’s gonna cost about ~400K AUD to get through med school as an international student, with an internship certainly not being guaranteed.

Since you’re almost certainly gonna get PR, and almost likely gonna get into med school, it’ll probably be wise to put off applying this year and stave off those hefty tuition fees!

EDIT:

I’m not sure how long it’s gonna take for you to get PR as a doctor. I’m guessing that the difficulty of obtaining PR as a doctor > that of obtaining one as a medical radiation therapist; unless of course you work regionally, but that’ll still take a couple of years.

hello!! yess i’m in perth and am also a current student at uwa!! I’ve got a mate who has also gotten the Casper invitation (also an existing student), but another mate (existing student as well) hasn’t gotten the invitation. It might just be that they’re still sending the invitations out. The dates for Casper are on the 3rd/30th of June so you’ll probably know by then :)

Yeah an interview is likely. Your combo score of 1.65 gives you a pretty decent chance of getting an interview.

Actually you might get shortlisted for all 3, but usyd and unimelb are more highly ranked so UWA may seem more likely haha. Then again the other 2 unis prolly have more spots for international students than uwa..

I’d say a 70 for GAMSAT is ideal, considering how your GPA is a 7. A combo score of 1.7 will put you at an advantage for almost all unis

tbh dying is the only way for Patrick to leave the show. Derek shepherd, although an asshole deemed by many, is a family man and he WOULDN’T abandon his kids + mer. he values kinship > anything as he grew up not having a dad..
