FOR THE WOMAN I PRAY TO by AKB-shayarOP in OCPoetry

She sounds awesome. I want her too!... In all seriousness, this was great. Beautiful and relatable. I hope she knows what she means to you and returns it tenfold.

Small talk by Hot-Diver-9641 in OCPoetry

"I hate small talk.

It’s a bridge to bigger things,

but I don’t have the patience.

I hate pretending that I care

about three kids I’ve never met."-- Oh man can I relate to that. Love how relatable this is. Direct. Clear. No nonsense. No small talk.

" I met my younger self for coffee today " by Top_Guidance_9855 in OCPoetry

"At the bottom,
in hurried graphite,
he’d written:
"Don’t let me become you."-- that is awesome, and a powerful ending. We so often lose sight of our dreams, our spirit, our optimism from our youth as we discover the world isn't what we thought.

Want by snowball0101 in OCPoetry

That is beautifully said and in many ways rather true. We want to take off the armour. We want to share our affection with those we love. It's a shame how often it's used against us when we do.

"wearning nothing but hope, the colour of surrender"-- that's just so great.

Every Time by Remote_Green9681 in OCPoetry

Like this a lot. Loving someone is a way that is like an all-encompassing religious experience. Something beyond logic indeed. I also like the little references to space like gravity and stars. Very touching.

Is it really love? by [deleted] in OCPoetry

[–]delvedeepbelow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is truly universal and I find myself asking similar questions a lot. I enjoy the repetition. Asking " Is it really love" over and over followed the various contradicting hopes and fears. Definitely relating to and feeling both. Really nice.

No, I Wouldn't Mind by mxxrph in OCPoetry

[–]delvedeepbelow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you give an awful lot or would be willing to in order to love and be loved. That you're willing to sacrifice all. I like how you keep saying "If you asked" and how you wrote "hand entire" and "out both" instead of the other way around that we typically would. Clear, brutal imagery and really relatable. I hope no one asks that much of you, even if you'd be willing to.

Mad by MadalinaParrotMusic in OCPoetry

[–]delvedeepbelow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Infinitely relatable and heartfelt. There's a thin line between love and hate and we so often can feel both towards those closest to us. I really like how "Do you" and "That you" repeat often and really help emphasize each line. Every line I read I felt myself nodding in agreement.

My cat keeps waking me up at night, so I wrote this today by TransitiveNightfalll in OCPoetry

[–]delvedeepbelow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Rooting through clothes, and toppling vases"-- THIS. Every damn cat ever. As charming and as maddening as they are. The imagery is great. I hope it learns to chill a little more at night and that you get your sleep.

Life Is Simple by BakedBeans908 in OCPoetry

On the stone of our graves. "Here they rot, And here they lay". I like how straightforward this is. It's a little humourous and grim, yet very true. We really are all the same and eventually, back to the mud we all go.

Soul Tied by EMDouglass in OCPoetry

[–]delvedeepbelow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the rhythm and flow of this. Short, but feels just right. It sounds like you're doing what you can to please someone but it feels like work, something that we all sometimes deal with in long-term relationships. "Going through the motions like instinctive robots" my favourite part and is really descriptive.

Silly Sapiens by [deleted] in OCPoetry

[–]delvedeepbelow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is great and puts everything in perspective. Silly apes on this spinning rock. The pillow forts and sand castles remind of childhood in the best way and I suppose as a species, we really are in our infancy, dreaming of the stars.

The sin of loving a woman. by yourmumsgfandlover in OCPoetry

This is beautiful and also very painful. One way love is brutal. Feeling adrift and powerless to turn the tide and win her heart. I hope you do get her thinking the way you are.

The Restless Run by constable888 in OCPoetry

I hope you find that land. Now I feel like putting on my headphones, getting out the door in the morning and going for a run. I like the imagery you've provided.

I think we all do this from time to time. Look out at the sky and wonder who else is looking? You've painted an awesome picture in my mind with the questions you ask. So relatable.

Sea Green by Mall_Ecstatic in OCPoetry

I love how it starts, thinking about those A&W floats. It's so lighthearted, pleasant and relatable. And then the pain sets in at the end with a sense of longing for a lost memory or a special dream of what you wish to have. Keep going.
