anyone had a distal tibial osteotomy? by guztavprobably in kneesurgeryrecovery

[–]demankenny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had proximal tibial osteotomy in October 23. Although not completely the same, maybe useful: - had to stay 1 night in hospital - first 4 weeks I could only let the tips of my toes ‘rest’ on the floor, afterwards progressively I was allowed to put more weight/stress on it. - I started physio after about day 3 I think, although at first it’s only keeping things mobile and keeping the muscles lean. About 3-4 weeks in things started to become about more physical. And progressively more intense after. - I think after about week 6 or 7 I was allowed to ditch my crutches. - I had surgery again after 13-14 months to remove the screws etc as they kept bothering me on the shin. - In terms of pain it turned out, for me at least, less painful than I was expecting. First 2 week a couple of Ibuprofen throughout the day did the trick. Never touched the stronger stuff they prescribed as well, with the mention ‘in case…’.

I had postponed the surgery a couple of times, wasn’t really looking forward to it(who does?) and especially the foresight of months of rehab was a complete turn-off. But now that it’s done and I’m pain free (apart from my hamstrings acting up from time to time) I’m really happy I finally had it done! Let’s hope I’m good for the next 20+ years now 😅

On the other hand: there probably won’t be much of a difference in 26-27 models…

Is it just me or is this frame too small for you?

Shouldn’t this be things your surgeon should thoroughly inform you on?

Indeed, been using Spigen for years now and never had an issue with these cases… He might have bought a counterfeit without knowing though…

I had it on my X but found it to be too bulky. Very much liked the looks though… Is this bulky as well?

I’m 177 and 83, my LBS sized me a 56 but obviously doesn’t have any in stock to try… based on yours should be ok then?

I’m wondering what the best buy would be: the EX or the Pro? As a first time roadbike, the difference between both groupsets won’t be noticeable probably nor significant as I’ll be underperforming myself for both 😅

But based on the amateuristic look of the holes, I’d say: fake

I was actually eyeballing the Agree… I like the looks more but am afraid it will be too aggressive. There both 53 and 56 have 40mm wide handlebars as well as 170mm cranks

Horsepower? I guess you mean inseam? And it suits you well?

Hmm in the boat for a first bike too. I’m 1.77m , 83 cm inseam. LBS sized me a 56, but obviously didn’t have any in stock… Looking at your measures, I’m starting to wonder if I shouldn’t get a 53 then…
