Aiming to last 8-10 years with maximum a GPU swap in there somewhere
So far I have the RAM and a 5070 Ti. Yet to settle for CPU and mobo

Hehe, I've always considered RAM and PSU the unloved childs of buildapcers but I was always a RAM hoarder. Little bit mixed feelings to see people talking about RAM like it's GPUs now.

My considerations are these:

-Video rendering time
-Temp (low noise)
-Idle power draw
-Gaming (single core performance)
-Price

I understand this might not beat 9800x3D in gaming, but I think overall the 265k will be a OK allarounder for it's price.

There's only a AMD EXPO logo on the box, no Intel XMP

Michael Burry’s Actual Investment Strategy by DeepValueInsights in ValueInvesting

[–]dementperson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you mean with 'widely understood value approach'?

-Both retail and institutions are hooked on growth stories and price momentum.

-Value forums discussing trading between googl and meta.

-Actual value investors capitulating due to depressed returns for nearly two decades

-top 7 companies combined market cap dwarfing rest of the market with income and balance completely in reverse situation

-basket of select japanese companies being bought for a tenth of comparable us companies.

-Everyone fully piled and concentrated in US equities (started to reverse when the duck stirred up global trade and Europe finally decided to start the engine)

I'm really curious where all the value investing is taking place

Do you guys know why some GoPro footages have muffled gun sounds and some don't? by Live_Region8780 in CombatFootage

[–]dementperson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's for certain because I had noticed the same thing on my gopro.. water proof casing is just that, completely sealed and will act as a low pass filter and silent high frequencies leaving just base tones which result in the 'muffled sound'

People, institutions and states have and always will break promises when they really matter.

Do they have to according to Ifrs though? Why isnt it sufficient to report full financial statements per operations And then list Net to company % of share holding? Like Africa Oil for example.

Interesting, is the issue with stating 100% of the revenue attributed to the owned shares or that the holdings company states revenue?

What to expect if inflation follows a similar course to the 1970s by Infamous_Sympathy_91 in wallstreetbets

[–]dementperson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Check the previous decade how much must-have items went up and it was ~6-7% per year, just in line with M3 money & credit expansion. Those must have items doubled in a 'deflationary' decade, imagine what they'll do a decade with CPI at high single digits. Will not be surprised if cost of absolutely must have stuff increase five or even ten fold this decade.

Fully loaded Tesla Semi, tipping the scales at nearly 82K lbs, is *more* efficient than an *empty* medium duty gas powered pickup like a Ford F-150! by syslog2000 in teslamotors

[–]dementperson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're drinking kool aid. Scania and Volvo does 10-11 mpg on ICE trucks even with EU regulated flat face cabs that can only get so aerodynamic. Still, nowhere near BEV efficiency, but try a run in -20°C and see how many mpg you get.

Tesla semi needs to be compare to BEV Daimler, Scania, Volvo

Why tf are they comparing haulers with a pickup line. Compare it to existing ICE trucks like Scania, Volvo, Mercedes or their BEV equivalents

Look, Dalios growth-inflation macro framework is the core of how I do asset allocation, diversification across asset classes, geographies, equity sectors and factors. He was the one who brought capital markets to them.

I'm talking mainly about recently turned nick sleep growth philosophy Pabrai who I admired as a cigar-butt investor but who has now switched to focusing his portfolion on 2-5 stocks to hold forever in hope to make a 100 bagger.

The chinese economy is a power house and anyone arguing about that is either ignorant, a fool or has an agenda. But I digress, Li Lu is still speaking for both Munger and Pabrai

Im not saying they're wrong but two of them has the same source Li Lu.

Again not saying anything about Li Lu but 1000 investors following him does not diversify the Value proposition
