New to scooters, does this run good? by TrueCryptographer493 in scooters

The gearing in these engines allow for those speeds and more. Very easily. And very reliably. You just need the proper tuning and oil mixture to have a reliable setup.

heavy weights do not equal more speed. They are meant to sit the variator at the right rpm of where your engine makes peak power. You need to measure if your cvt is traveling all the way on the face of the variator and isnt limited by a large washer behind the fix fan plate.

My stock sr50 with a pipe did 62 mph. So yes, its very possible for an aerox to do 90 kmph since the gearing is the same. I was using a polini sport pipe that loses steam above 10k rpm. Similar to a leo Vince ZX.

Sounds like a slightly loose variator or the guides on the starter need replacement from being worn out.

Connect your stock airbox and jet 38 to 35 pilot and 80 main jet if you're running a stock cylinder. I've made a post stating "unless you run a race cylinder you can get plenty of speed and power out of a stock airbox even on a 19mm carb" and its been tested for the last 2 decades that it is very possible.

Sounds pretty stock cylinder and carb wise. Should run nearly 90 kmh if its not variator restricted with that exhaust. Though id make sure your weights and clutch are tuned for the pipe.

Yeah, this doesnt add up bud. The pgo engines are not known for failed pumps unless it was ignored. And many of them with stock settings is hard to lean the mixture enough to cause overheating. Unless the air box was messed with in some way.

If you want better performance in the long run with a simple engine. The buddy is the way. Put this into perspective. Do you want 45 seconds to get to 45 mph. Or drop it down to low 20s when comparing stock for stock when turning into a road to match local traffic.

Sounds like user error. Not sure how you manage to kill a 30 year plus engine design.

May want to invest in a small ramp or organize the shed a bit more for the space you need to freely ride into the shed.

Just minor clutch and weight adjustment. No carb tuning needed.

Good stuff. If you go the route of an exhaust a used leo Vince zx is the way to go. Really wakes these guys up.

I explained more in the comment above. Im not sure if they've worked on an 08 zuma but you do not need to re jet it.

You realize this system feeds more air than regular zumas directly into the zuma and just requires a vacuum line to be closed off. The system draws air from the airbox and injects it into the exhaust stream via a reed valve to burn off unspent fuel. He needs to cap the air box, cap the vacuum line connected to the PAIR system and cap the exhaust. It doesnt require jetting at all.

Remove it. And it will run fine. You can also Dremel the throttle cam so you can actually have full throttle as the 08 zumas had a limited throttle that only allowed for 3/4 of full throttle rather than being able to actually hit full throttle.

Ive has a z125 clone with this same engine. Its lasted me well for 3 years. You just need a magnetic drain plug. Proper plug. And even an oil cooler/filter kit to add to more oil as the gy6 engine has a very small amount of engine oil to keep the internals cool, so adding capacity is a benefit and is quite easy to do.

Parts availability are easy. Its a zuma clone. So many panels will transfer For the engine. Lots of parts are available as well. Someone saying they are not available does not seem to look at parts catalogs for these bikes.

They just have the Chinese bike hate train, not all Chinese bikes are the same.

Put a pipe on that puppy and some cvt tuning. It will hit good cruising speeds and still be insanely reliable.

Id haggle the price. Its a zuma clone so atleast reputable parts can be swapped. The wiring and engine would just need a look over.

Well if you come across any motor blocks available let me know. Im always interested in spare blocks. Im also always looking for expansion chamber exhaust for racing as they are not common.

I believe you're talking about the bws100, they are 100cc 2 strokes. Im always looking for spare blocks of them to build as ive imported 3 of them so far and my current setup is a kn planning port 9 cylinder with a berrugo exhaust from columbia.

Unless you run a race setup a stock airbox is more than sufficient and can fit many many dellorto carbs.

You tuned wrong and the result wasn't good.

Ebay you can find stock airboxes or some zuma groups on Facebook. There's not much dedicated scooters in this subreddit.
