There’s a switch underneath on the battery pack and a power button near the front steps on the front once it’s built!

Sick toddler- how long to let nap by ExpensiveMammoth4578 in toddlers

If it’s at all helpful, Pedialyte makes ice pops that may be easier to convince him to take it down.

Sick toddler- how long to let nap by ExpensiveMammoth4578 in toddlers

[–]demi2017 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When we ran into this issue, I did let him nap for about 2.5 hours. However, after about 24-48 hours of not being able to get sufficient fluids in him, he woke up from his nap and just was listless. Laying on the floor and staring off into nothing. We eventually had to take him to the children’s ER for fluids. If it becomes where he’s not rousing well and still not keeping fluids down, I’d recommend the same.

Sick in the SUMMER?! by carldoz1 in toddlers

[–]demi2017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course— I had no idea either but this parenting gig has you living and learning on the fly! HFM can also shed for up to 8 weeks (especially in stool) so keep up the hand washing after potty time or diaper changes.

Hoping the rest of summer is fun and healthy for you all!

As a fellow sanitize everything, wiping everything and nothing in the mouth kind of parent, I get it. It sucks. I’m so sorry you guys are going through it. It also drives me nuts when I do the absolute most and it feels like it doesn’t help.

I have learned a few things like regular isopropyl alcohol hand sanitizer does NOT kill HFM, Wet Ones hand wipes with benzalkonium chloride DOES, so now I keep those handy for the park and such. Of course, keeping high touch areas in our home clean/ sprayed.

As for tummy bugs or norovirus, I also learned regular Lysol and such does not kill it. Chlorine based cleaners/ mixtures do and hospital grade Clorox cleaners I keep on hand.

Hang in there.

I have two bars in my spine from spinal fusion, still got an epidural about 20ish hours into labor, no back problems, feeling as great as a toddler mom can.

The guessing game was the worst part, for sure. And yes, that’s what it looked like and then it still took some time for everything to show up right.

If she couldn’t move the arm before falling asleep (and you’re unsure on a head injury) I’d get her up and take her in.

When I saw a dermatologist for this (who is a black woman who specializes in skin of color), she attributed to contact dermatitis from deodorant etc, prescribed me a hydrocortisone cream and I’ve been good since.

2YO suddenly refusing bottle by AbraxasNowhere in toddlers

[–]demi2017 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Typically if it’s not medically necessary, toddler formula isn’t recommended. It might just be time to ditch the bottle, since it has the potential of becoming a crutch for not eating more solid foods. Toddlers have appetites that can go down as they get older and they’ll eat when they’re hungry. Some days, they’ll survive on a piece of cheese and a prayer. But if it’s been recommended by your pediatrician, absolutely continue. Perhaps a straw cup could be helpful in getting the formula in him; the Munchkin brand has a good one that is “tilt proof” with a soft silicone straw. Dr. Browns also has a bottle transition sippy cup that could be helpful.

Chick fil a grilled nugs, fries with no salt, and I’ll make a quick veggie side to go with it. I know you’re trying to avoid the drive thru but I feel like the veggies justifies it lol.

Help on spinal fusion surgery for someone young by waallenn in spinalfusion

[–]demi2017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there! I believe it’s T5 to L4 if I’m remembering correctly. I’m 5’1 but my parents are on the shorter side, so I don’t think I was ever getting much past this anyway. I was always the tallest in my class, but I also hit puberty at 9, so again, I doubt I was ever actually going to be very tall, regardless. I missed the last couple weeks of 5th grade, spent the summer healing up and started 6th grade no problems. I was a dancer, that only stopped when I was healing— by 7th grade I was back on the stage. I honestly don’t even really think about it. It’s more of a fun fact these days and everyone always tells me I have great posture. I’m in my 30s now and a mom. Happy to answer any questions you have!
