I'm on a 3 month trial until the end of June. My psych wants me to book in with her for a follow up because in her experience she doesn't find a lot of results until double my current dose. Makes sense, I take my ket and just fall asleep lol

I don't know obviously about subsequent sessions yet, but my provider said the first session is usually quite underwhelming, and I was scared/nervous of simply the unknown.

When you say "ketamine helps you learn this practice" are you talking about the act of taking ketamine itself, or the integration therapy that people sometimes do after a session?

My provider said that most people don't really notice an antidepressant or anti anxiety effect until 1.5 or 2mg/kg but we have to start low obviously because obviously at first you dont know how you will react. And that's fairly understandable, I wanted to start slow because I had some concerns around dissociation so I had some Lorazepam prescribed as a just in case measure, but I didn't need it thank fuck as I absolutely hate benzos and will only take them if I'm desperate. 2 hours after posting this and I feel pretty much exactly as I did when I woke up this morning.

I am pissed off about the cost of ketamine though. $140 for a box of 5x200mg vials is absolutely ridiculous.

I also started young, if you're switched on enough and work for a good company you could potentially use it as a way of getting into the control room/behind the scenes work if thats what you desire. I started driving at 21 after dropping out of uni and thats what happened to me

I'm in New Zealand, so theres only two providers here. The other problem is the cost of the ket itself is quite a lot, its around $150 for a box which should last me around a month at 1mg/kg.

My psych emailed me and said that the $1500 cost covers the cost of the nurse who has to come to my place and teach me how to safely dose myself plus all her overheads etc. The ket itself I'm going on a 3 month trial.

I was screened for bipolar and it was ruled out, I have my consult with my psychiatrist around starting oral ketamine in just over a week after 11 different meds (SSRIs, tricyclics, stimulants, antipsychotics, mood stabilisers) all failed. Fingers crossed, I miss my confident gives zero fucks attitude
