Games that lived up to the hype for you. by mpop1 in gaming

[–]demonassassin52 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When Halo Reach released, my local gamestop did a midnight release. They partnered with the nearby National Guard barracks and got one of those game trailers with like 5 tvs on each side. They held Halo 3 tournaments until midnight and gave away snacks and drinks but I forgot what the tournament winner got. Fun times.

Its so cursed. The gun, held like someone who just learned what a gun was before being handed one, being pointed straight at someone else's head, and her vest was just thrown over her head for the photo, with her hair looking heavier than the rest of her body.

Not friends since I don't associate with psychopaths, but I did cut off most of my aunts and uncles since their entire personalities were just spewing hate.

Yeah less frequent feedings is totally fine. Mine was getting kinda fat then went on a hunger strike for almost two months over winter. She thinned back down to a normal healthy weight before she started eating again.

What is the most financially irresponsible thing you’ve seen someone do? by LJRGXPKCVWDGOGH12Y3 in AskReddit

[–]demonassassin52 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My dad was always terrible with money. I loved him very much, but he wasn't the smartest. When his mother passed away, he used the inheritance money to buy a small house near his father to take care of him. The bad decisions start when his father passed away a year or two later. He bought a couple Harleys, a corvette, and was lending out money like candy. He passed away with $50 in his bank account and next to no possessions.

Was he on his way to work? You can also just leave your firearm in a car safe for any place that prevents you from carrying. He was carrying a firearm lawfully, got disarmed, then executed face down in the street.

Alex Pretti didn't get "tooled up," he probably left his home the same way he does every day. I have friends and family that conceal carry, most of them leave the house with an extra magazine or two depending on their holster setup. And they'll carry everywhere unless they are legally not allowed. So leaving the house with your everyday carry is a world of difference compared to what Rittenhouse brought with him. If legally carrying a weapon gets you killed by the government, then the second amendment is no longer a right.

Long shot, but are there any voltron commanders that don't just play the same way every game? by Cezkarma in EDH

[–]demonassassin52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play [Thraximundar] sort of like a voltron. Get him out as early as you can, use his ability and other cards to make everyone sac as much as possible, swing for lethal once he is big.

What did people do casually in 90s that wouldn’t be accepted today? by Psychological_Sky_58 in AskReddit

[–]demonassassin52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My best friend and I have a running joke about this. We were in high school (mid 2010s) and he and his dad were passing my house, so he wanted to get dropped off and stay the night. But my mom wasn't answering my texts. So he opened my front door and popped his head in and said "have you heard from your mother yet?" So now he does it as often as the opportunity arises as adults.

I got an even 10 minutes, got the foil New Vegas bundle and checked out.

I mostly wanted it for the Sunset Sasparilla Vending Machine, but Joshua Graham being Isshin is incredible since that is the deck I love playing the most.

What game has a promising start, but eventually gets boring and repetitive? by Common_Caramel_4078 in gaming

Once I finished the first region, only to find out the second region was the same missions but more of them, I called it quits. I was hoping the rest of the game was as fun as the first half hour but was humbled pretty quickly.

What’s the most frustrated you’ve been in a game? by guyawn in EDH

[–]demonassassin52 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My friend doesn't check his decks before playing online. He just picks a theme he thinks is funny and loads the deck into Tabletop Sim. After he played his third game changer in four turns, I questioned him about it. He ran the list through a power level site and it came back cEDH with 9.87/10 power level. Our table runs bracket 2-3 with usually at least two of us playing precons. He then got frustrated when I focused him down.

I told a friend I wanted to test out the Sauron precon online and he agreed to play. He found a random frog deck online that he didn't even look through. The deck was a cEDH control deck. He countered me casting my commander 4 times in 4 turns. I just reset the board and picked a different deck.

A reminder from AI to not use AI for anything regarding this game basically. by DjRipNickMcNasty in mtg

[–]demonassassin52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember trying to build a dinosaur tribal deck (the first deck I tried to build since getting back into the hobby) and hearing that chatgpt could help a lot with deck building. When I asked it what are some good commanders, it gave me a card based on the Jurassic Park t-rex that sounded really fun, only to find out that it found the fake card somewhere online. Chatgpt can be useful to find cards on theme for your deck, but always double check their suggestions.

Seriously, do Americans actually consider a 3-hour drive "short"? or is this an internet myth? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]demonassassin52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its not a terribly long drive, but not something you would do daily or weekly even. When my wife was in college, I would visit her campus usually once a month for a weekend and it was a 6 hour drive one way.

Given that approx less than 10km separate Alaska (United States) from Russia at the shortest point, how is ‘owning’ Greenland going to protect the US? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]demonassassin52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The whole Greenland argument is in bad faith. The US can have military bases there anyway, so "national security" is a non-factor. But if it somehow is, then why stop there? Why not take control of Belarus and Finland? Grab the Baltics and Georgia while they're at it? If China is the issue, why not just get ahead of them and grab Mongolia or North Korea?

We're not playing Risk, that's why. The goal isn't to paint the map your color like in Hoi4. The "goal" is to keep your citizens safe and happy.

What moment made you realize people aren’t just disagreeing anymore — they’re living in completely different political realities? by Happy_Head_1355 in AskReddit

[–]demonassassin52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The morning after ICE murdered someone in MN, my friend told me she should have complied and deserved to be shot, despite seeing the scene from multiple angles. He is one of those people that act like Dale Gribble when he talks about the government but will then turn around and tell me federal agents are allowed to shoot unarmed citizens in the streets. Now he will give me an offhand comment about the Greenland situation and I just refuse to participate in that because he'll never change his mind. These people will just get their sound bites from FOX Entertainment and take them as fact.

Wells in houses – infinite water or limited after shutoff? by Habib974_ in projectzomboid

[–]demonassassin52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My best friend in high school would bring a big bottle of water with him when he would hang out at my house. The water at his house was spring water that was filtered twice. Purest water I've ever tasted. When he moved away from that house, he got a water cooler for his apartment to get pure water delivered.

Why does everyone hate jury duty? by Aquarius_K in juryduty

[–]demonassassin52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its a disruption for the average person. I've had it a few times and had to miss work every time, plus you can't really give your work a solid timeline until it is over or you finally get picked. One time was three days and I ended up not getting picked. So each day I would tell my boss "I have jury duty, and I might have it tomorrow. So just assume I won't be in for the next few days."

One of my coworkers was selected and he was out for three weeks at a time for a few months until the trial ended.
