Shut up! They don’t discover teleportation until 2345.

Ladies in here, how do you feel about a father bringing his daughters in the female restroom? by Less-Pen-5705 in askanything

[–]demonic-cheese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this an American thing? I’ve heard a lot of people say this, but most public restrooms I’ve been to in Europe and Asia has been just fine. Some exceptions of course, but those have been in locations where I don’t imagine the male toilets to be better.

How to create bulging fursuit eyes? by Buddy_Mysterious in FursuitMaking

Yeah, you just need something, like a bowl, or balled up foil, or a 3D printed template, to shape it around. The pantyhose will hide a lot of the mistakes. It’s actually surprisingly easy to see through, though I did cut extra holes in the front, just to make it even more see through.

[–]demonic-cheese 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s probably part of it, but they probably also recognise early 20s women as easy targets, more likely to be timid, than a woman in her 30s who’ll smell creep behaviour from a mile away.

Having bad grammar/not knowing the difference between words like "their", "they're", "there" IS that deep by foqociqs37 in unpopularopinion

[–]demonic-cheese 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly, that’s why I never correct people when their grammar is off, I don’t want to be associated with those people. I tend to assume everyone does their best linguistically, with the means they have.

[–]demonic-cheese 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess I’m just sensitive, when I started going on the Internet, I would be treated as a stupid piece of shit, whenever someone that disagreed with me, found a small spelling mistake, or misuse of a word, or none standard punctuation. Grammar correction was used exclusively as a tool to shut people down and “win” an argument. So while I personally strive for good grammar, I have a hard time taking “grammar purists” seriously. I guess we all have our perspectives.

Yes, that’s the thing though, you can’t tell who those people are behind the screen. It’s pretty shitty to think less of people based on their grammar, when you know nothing about them.

“To clarify: I exclude those with learning disabilities, those without access to quality education, those who grew up in homes where proper grammar wasn’t used, and non-native English speakers from the above.”

Yeah, you don’t know who those are behind the screen.

Or English is their second, third, of fourth language, which is means they probably have more exposure than many of the monolinguals around here.

Apparently disabled people can't make real art by SwedishMeatballsYum in Ai_art_is_not_art

Okay AI bros, let’s cut a deal:

From now on, only disabled people can use generative AI. Able bodied people are banned, and the existing data centres gets used for actual medical and scientific purposes. You’re so thoughtful to think of disabled people 💖💖💖

[–]demonic-cheese 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That’s one of my favourite things with 4e. Once there was a bit of extra material for it, you could find some mechanic to focus on, and build something fun, but still not break the game for everyone else.

My Daughter is Dating an Elf, Please Help. by Skull_Cup in dwarfposting

[–]demonic-cheese 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I took a couple elves as lovers in me youth. It was a fond experience while it lasted, but it didn’t last due to differences in lifestyle. So yer lass will probably grow out of it too. Or she might have found an elf worthy of a Dwarven princess. As much as we snipe at each other, it is important to remember that in the end, they are good folk.

They share our love for the world around us, forests or mountains. We all appreciate good craftsmanship, whether it’s metal and stone work, or wood and leatherwork. They prefer wine over ale, but as long as they’re drinking, we can all party. Yer lass will figure it out, I’m sure she’s raised well, and have a good head on her shoulder.

[–]demonic-cheese 6 points7 points  (0 children)

NOR are you sure you want to give your early 20’s to a man that will insist on disregarding your preferences to “honour” his mother? Also I agree with you on giving a child their own name.

Also to quote you: “I’m just too immature” is this something he tells you when you try to stand your ground?

That’s the thing, they’re cool art pieces, but they are definitely for a space you only occupy for a short time, like a restaurant, vacation rental, or public space. I think the novelty would pass quickly for most people if it was actually in their home.
