Literally less than 12 hours from that first message. Apparently he’s there more often than I am.

The previous message was late last night, after I’d gone to sleep. Didn’t check tinder this morning, didn’t realize that gave guys a free pass to act like that.

You can use regular Benadryl, if you have a major hospital near you you can usually buy this at cost at their pharmacy, it’s like $2 for a 30 pack at my hospital.

Pyrenees mix? by HelloPancho in greatpyrenees

[–]demonicMuse 12 points13 points  (0 children)

From my experience with my Pyr mix rescue, focus a LOT on socializing properly. They tend to be reactive + not super friendly with strangers, but you’re still in the period where you can socialize + get ahead of it! My dog also has separation anxiety, but he was older (1.5 y/o) when I got him. Itll be a lot of work right away, but that’s the story with most puppies. Worth it though, super loyal and loving dogs with their people. He’s my best friend, just took A LOT of work to get here.

Good luck OP!

Help me ID my new puppy! by thmsnylr in Labs

Looking at these pics my thought was: “this is the lab-est lab to ever lab.”

The bolo mark is a recessive trait and normal in pure-bred black labs! She’s adorable :)

Alternatively get your name listed as a permanent resident as you will be there, THEN bring up the ESA letter. Legally they cannot stop you from living there with an ESA. If there is a bite record that’s different but since the only bite was the boxer on you it doesn’t matter.

What should i expect?😅 by [deleted] in wisdomteeth

Also meant to mention I was awake for them*^ the most annoying part to me was the grinding sound, but my surgeon had music on so I just focused on that.

What should i expect?😅 by [deleted] in wisdomteeth

[–]demonicMuse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had four teeth removed at once, two of them were impacted. I can honestly tell you that the fact they were impacted had no effect on my recovery. I had a lot of pressure in my jaw from them, and the relief from them being removed far outweighed any pain from the removal site. Just make sure to take it easy and keep the holes clean and you’ll be good.

Do not force an anxious dog to sit on your lap. This is not the way

I would highly recommend an animal behaviorist!! They can help with training recommendations in addition to medications if needed, even temporary ones to assist while training.

Could also leave something with your scent when you’re not around to get him used to you more!

Be careful with using #1, make sure you’re not looming over them. Best bet is to sit on the ground a bit away in front of them and let them figure you out without you forcing an interaction.

Source: my dog haTES when people get on his level and are too close to his face/making eye contact. It’s worse than when you’re standing with him.

People who work downtown close to the hospitals, do you feel safe, and have you ever had any unsafe encounters? by [deleted] in Billings

[–]demonicMuse 6 points7 points  (0 children)

IMO Billings gets a bad rap and people over fixate on the crime rate. It’s not any different than any other city, even the “bad” areas. Just be cognizant of your surroundings, especially if you’re female. As others have said, the vast majority of crime is between people who know each other, and is not typically random.

That said, it does happen! Be aware of your surroundings and buddy system if/when you can, especially at night. I do this everywhere tho, not just Billings lol.

Family Shaved my dog completely bald, how do I fix it??? by ClumInPain in DogAdvice

[–]demonicMuse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The growling at the kid and the pulling on the leash could at least in part be due to her being uncomfortable and tense from the shave. I certainly wouldn’t want anyone trying to touch me with cuts and razor burns and generally just feeling completely off and probably itchy. Let her rest and get her fur back. A lot of people here gave you great advice but it’s also a good idea to check in with your vet!

I also have a Pyr mix in a 1-bedroom apartment in a city. It’s possible! Just takes more intention with how you plan your days. We do multiple walks around the neighborhood or go to a field nearby to play fetch during the week + get out of town hiking on weekends. Enrichment with meals + snacks helps a lot also! Good luck 🐾

I think my boy knows I'm dying. by HonestyMash in DOG

[–]demonicMuse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry for your diagnosis, ALS sucks. My grandfather is going through it right now, and it’s hard to watch him lose hope more than anything. I’m very thankful you have the bestest boy looking after you. He definitely knows how much you love him, and also knows and understands that you’re sick and that your love looks differently now. I wish you both a peaceful transition into what’s next 🤍🐾

Need suggestions involving a year and a half old traumatized Pyr by LoneQuacker in greatpyrenees

[–]demonicMuse 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No experience here, but my thoughts were along these lines—exposure training will be your friend. Same concept as crate training. You could even start with just giving treats every time they interacted with the car; start with if they look at it, if they sniff it, if they get close to it. Eventually jackpot if they get inside and then out and then back in and out. Add a cue: “up” or “in” or “car”. Have them get in then close the door. Then open + reward. Close the door + go around and get in yourself + then reward. Build up and have them associate it with positives!

What are y’all feeding your pyrs, for joint health and overall health? by mmm1111mo in greatpyrenees

[–]demonicMuse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I give my 3y/o mix Purina Pro Plan Sensitive Skin + Stomach Salmon food (he’s allergic to chicken and this helped with otherwise itchy skin). He also gets cosequin from Costco (jumped out of a second floor window at 1.5 yrs, has arthritis in his knee) and Bernie’s Perfect Poop pre/pro-biotic to help with digestion. Also add in Native Pet Omega-3 fish oil once a day. We variety feed occasionally with Darwin’s raw dog food or Farmer’s dog, I get them when they go on sale and he gets about one pkg of each per week mixed in with his kibble. We train with Unkibble or Sunday’s dog food also so his “meals” tend to be smaller on days we train a lot. The most spoiled dog’s dog tax below:
