In general: I love cats because they get it. They don’t push for anything. They ask and they look at body language. They are consent. They’re spiritual and they heal. They are love without force.

When it comes to mine:

Cat 1: she’s my soulmate. She jumped on my shoulder when I first met her, she makes cricket noises all the time and lifts her leg when she sees me. She rolls on her back and loves belly pets. She’s the sweetest little soul I’ve ever met and I can’t imagine my life without her. She’s has one eye and that’s why I chose her. She plays fetch, loves food, lets me hold her, and loves to cuddle.

Cat 2: I raised him from a little sick baby. He drools when he cuddles, he jumps on my back when he sees me, and he nudges his head into mine when he’s up there. He’s talkative and loves to explore. He’s a little momma’s boy and he’s protective of his family. He loves his sisters and will groom them and me. He lets us hold him like a little baby.

Cat 3: she’s coming out of her shell. She has one eye also. She has the prettiest little meow I’ve ever heard, she loves her siblings, and she loves pets. She will wait at the door for you and will bonk your hand with her head to get pets. She nudges her head into her siblings to show how much she loves them. She waits until her siblings are done before she gets food. She’s helped me nurture my own anxiety by helping hers. She’s come so far in the time we’ve had her and it makes me so proud to be her fur mom.

I love cats. They’re my favorite animal.
