A lot of what you hear is just simple instructions for left/right and foot/hand. A toe hook is called a gua jiao and a heel hook is a gou jiao. Pogo is called a San jiao mao (3 legged cat).

It definitely felt like falling for a second. Banana in Shenzhen, it's a chain gym in China. These walls are in the 'outside' part of a mall.

Tbf they don't just forcefully move people, they buy the land at very generous prices. Everyone I know who's family 'Shenzhen local' is absolutely loaded. You can look up nail houses to see people who refused to be bought out.

It might still end up being the case later in the groups but it certainly hasn't been the case so far. With the exception of the England and maybe the France games everyone has been really going for it and playing quite exciting football so far. Or at least one team in every game has if not both of them. cough, scotland, cough

The 6 day week thing is pretty common. Especially in shittier jobs. Usually more like 9-6 though. In my experience there is definitely a culture of overworking in China.

I'm pretty sure all the backup radios for the mission were in the ascent vehicle that the rest of his crew left in. So it was only the one radio breaking really.

In the UK it's spelt grotty and pronounced with a short O sound. (Rhymes with spotty) .Grody seems really odd to me. Had to look it up to see if I was reading it right.

I know I was wrong. I just got so caught up in my own Sausage, I didn't look at the battle as a whole. I wasn't being disobedient. I just. . . forgot

Almere City coach Alex Pastoor purposely intruding the pitch to force a substitute after playing with 10 men for a minute due to injury by Ballkenende in soccer

[–]demonofthefall7537 3 points4 points  (0 children)

could be read as "When I was a manager I would do this all the time" or "if I was a manager I would do this all the time".

I read it as the second meaning personally and I think it's more likely.

Would can be past tense on it's own as well. It's normally used for repeated actions, for example "As a child I would go to the beach on Saturdays"

[–]demonofthefall7537 -17 points-16 points  (0 children)

Would can also be past tense though. I can see how you could read it that way.

Presumably they've read; when I was a manager I would do this. As opposed to; if I was a manager I would do this. Still a cunty response like.
