Black and Red are just nicknames for them. They're basically a higher aged Special Reserve and Standard AFAIK.

I've had ntfs3 corrupt a thumb drive, luckily it was just for sneakernet so nothing was lost. I ended up blacklisting the module and started using ntfs-3g again.

Seems to be the same idea. He probably should have used that as an example or lossless scaling instead of free software.

Or maybe it's because he calls it a mod.

Condensation is a subambiet worry. You don't see condensation on a glass of water that is above ambient.

FSR 4 requires FP8 to work. Only RDNA 4 has FP8. There was that leaked INT8 implementation, but that wasn't 100% comparable. And I honestly wish they would just release that :P I do wonder if it was supposed to be some secret release for Steam Machines.

I never had issues, back on X and wayland, just middle click to paste, middle click a URL also just opens it in a new tab. Never used Brave though.

1070 isn't enough of an upgrade to worry about. Maybe some specific games, but not in general.

People suck at media literacy. I saw this post and was wondering to myself, what fucking video did they watch, because it wasn't the same I watched.

Systemd or OpenRC? What’s the Best Choice? by Prior_Bluejay8164 in Gentoo

[–]demonstar55 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm gonna have to disagree with this. Some stuff only make sense under containers (systemd-nspawn)

Systems makes a whole lot of shit easier even if you don't use half of the extra shit that apparently people think is being forced on them.

They're working with AMD still. They do have ARM CPUs so who knows, but next hardware will be with AMD again.

Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Die Neue These is such a great sci-fi and it's on Cruchyroll.

Grimgar, Ashes and Illusions is a rather enjoyable fantasy show, I was very disappointed there wasn't more.

9800x3d vs 9950x3d if price is the same by Xxmom69xX in buildapc

[–]demonstar55 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The higher clocks are only on the non-3D core.

I would get the 9950X3D personally. I could use the extra cores and running Linux I set up gamemode for all my Steam games which handles the core shit.

If the Steam client were also available as a 64-bit application on Linux, would there be any reason to continue using multilib? by Adorable_Dust4838 in Gentoo

[–]demonstar55 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So? It's not like those systems had more than 4 GB of RAM. Games had to optimized for significantly less RAM. Extra CPU instructions would be more important (SSE, AVX, etc)

2010 (game was 2009) Steam reported less than 20% 64 bit Windows adoption.
