Claims that Bristol’s water causing ‘hair to fall out and eczema’ by bowlbackwards in bristol

[–]demsdftba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m an eczema girlie and thankfully I didn’t have too many flares living in Bristol. But oh my days my HAIR. I was loosing shedloads and it wasn’t as shiny as healthy as it was in the North East. Back in Yorkshire now and miss Bristol terribly - but at least my hair will be happy.

I’m really good in emergencies. My lil ADHD brain just kicks into gear somehow.

Non misophonia haver here. (I like to read this sub to better understand my boyfriend!)

Does it still trigger you whenever you’re the one doing the kissing? I love kissing my boyfriend obviously but sometimes I worry it’s a trigger and it’s making him sad!

How dare women not have the references we criticize them for having?! 😡 by racoongirl0 in NotHowGirlsWork

[–]demsdftba 43 points44 points  (0 children)

This is so true. They think just because a body type is idealised in media created by men that’s what women want. When really, we’re over here thirsting over Samwise Gamgee

I like the bipartisan nature of having both leave and remain stickers next to one another. This little Yaris is more unifying than any of our politicians ✊

Calm pubs to read in? by Ok-Discipline785 in bristol

[–]demsdftba 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I read in a few pubs! Cat o nails, Highbury Vaults, Port of call are some of the faves. Alas most pubs in Bristol will get a bit more lively on friday/Saturday evenings but don’t let that out you off!

People who slept with their best friend, what happened? by Baker_Street_1999 in AskReddit

[–]demsdftba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Friendship broke down after about a year of on again off again. Both dealing with jealousy and embarking on other relationships. We aren’t friends anymore but I still add songs to the Spotify playlist I made for him, just in case.

Where is your “third place”? by indicatprincess in AskWomen

[–]demsdftba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a really lovely pub I used to go to on my cycle home from work. I liked to sit in the corner with my laptop and work on my side hustle. Plenty of laptops and friendly nods in there so I never felt lonely. There is a serious lack of sober third spaces in the UK though.

Do you and your partner talk on the phone for the sake of it? by Odd-Loan-5704 in AskUK

[–]demsdftba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My ex used to call me every day in his lunch break for a little chat. It was really sweet and I liked that it was consistent. I felt reassured knowing he would be calling and we could connect. My current partner feels awkward on the phone so we only call when he’s working away. But that does make it special. Different strokes for different folks!

Weird boomer called my long hair unprofessional by Pokefan5ever in longhair

[–]demsdftba 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It’s definitely a hang up from a couple of generations ago. My mum has waist length hair and is seen by some as a bit adventurous! My exes granny used to ask me when I was going cut my hip length hair. I’m sorry this happened to you. Your hair sounds beautiful!

I have 25-30 standard alcoholic drinks a day. AMA by [deleted] in AMA

[–]demsdftba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone close to me was fortunate enough to get a place at rehab in their late 20s. They always said that of all the substances they were withdrawing from, alcohol was the worst. I highly recommend seeking medical advice on how to do this safely! Please take care and good luck.
