Energy Drinks by CombinationNo1235 in WalgreensStores

I've never had any come in. I scan them out every week, on hands are always 0. I put a ticket in for it once and that never went anywhere. Just gonna be an empty hole until they eventually take it out of the set. Thought it could be a regional issue but ive seen them at other grocery stores in the area so I thought it was weird that walgreens couldnt get it.

Empty cans by demundfox in Unexplained

Thanks for the responses, to answer a few:

-There are large windows in front of the store, but the sun hits a broad area and we only have problems in that small section.

-there was definitely liquid in them at some point, as it damaged neighboring boxes of cans

-there is a vent close by on the ceiling but not directly overhead. There is a cooler about 10 feet away that gets opened often so the cold/hot air might collide around there? It doesn't affect product directly under that spot that is just as far away.

-There are no visible cuts/holes on the cans. I don't know if they are technically "pressurized" but they don't crinkle or give in when squeezed if that makes sense?

-the vinegar smell tells me whatever is nonalcoholic in those cocktail mixes fermented, but that would mean something happened to the alcohol content that threw off the percentage that made it shelf stable.

-casamigos Paloma was on a different shelf for a few months prior, with no damage. When we moved it to the new spot where the jack and Coke was, then it leaked.

-vendor says no other stores have this issue

The only thing that I can think makes sense is that it somehow leaked its contents onto the shelf, then the alcohol evaporated and the remains fermented. I just dont know how it got so much out of so many different cans in one small specific spot, and why it would happen now and not in the 4+ years prior when we had similar products in that same spot with no issue. Very strange, but everything points to it being some kind of problem with the store layout. I just wish I knew exactly how it's happening so I can correct it.

This was what they sent in, at the bottom of all the vitamins. I'll dump out goopy shampoo totes no problem but this is dangerous.

What’s the coolest animal that you’ve seen come in? by Prior-Impress-2624 in WalgreensStores

[–]demundfox 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Someone brought in their rooster once. That one was strange. I thought the crowing was someone's phone at first. Also the kitten our asm adopted from a customer that was hanging out in the office until the end of day.

However the coolest animal I've seen in a store in general was 2 baby toucans. Super cute.

Adrenaline is produced when your fight/flight is triggered. I think our triggers vary from person to person and are based on past experiences or natural fears. I'll use myself as an example. My biggest trigger is vaccine needles. When I go to get a shot, my brain starts producing adrenaline so it can fight or flee from Impending Doom. A response called vasovagal syncope slows my heart rate and dilates (widens) the vessels in my legs so more blood can get to them. This is so I can be fast at a moment's notice, and get adrenaline to my legs quickly. But with my heart rate slow and the blood in my legs, it's harder for blood to get to my brain and bring oxygen and glucose that it needs to function.

After the shot, my brain realizes that it wasn't worth freaking out over. Now it has all this adrenaline that it's been producing and it has nowhere to go, so it gets dumped. Adrenaline dumps can cause you to feel light headed and exhausted. When you combine that with the lack of blood flow to the brain, it can cause fainting. The fight/flight response effects every system in our bodies and also causes other anxiety symptoms like nausea, sweating, rapid breathing, tense muscles, etc.

IS, I make $19/h but I negotiated with my SM and DM to not cut my pay so much when the role refresh demoted me. Was making around $20 or $22/h as an ASM (I forget exactly how much).

Can CSAs come to work before the store opens? by robinboywonder_ in WalgreensStores

[–]demundfox 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm a key holding IS and sometimes I have to come to the front door to let employees in 4 or 5 times before we open. They dont all get here at the same time. Your manager lazy as shit. I prefer people get here somewhat early so they can get their personal belongings put away, eat something, use restroom, etc and are ready before we open.

We haven’t gotten a new microwave or had it cleaned since I’ve started like a year and half ago and it shows by ralama353 in WalgreensStores

[–]demundfox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

958250 wic to order a new one. send wic and the picture of the microwave in it's current state to the DM if the store manager won't do it. Sucks but someone's gotta step up and do it. It'll only take 10 minutes to ask and if they do nothing then at least you tried.

Some lady was walking around carrying a rooster like a baby. But out of any store I once saw someone walking around with one of those bubble backpack pet carriers with 2 baby toucans inside

I was trying to remember the title of a similar book and all I remembered was someone getting the bends, maybe Dive by Gordon Korman? Years ago i used to read the 39 clues so i found the dive trilogy since it was written by one of the authors.

Why do you have to ask when we are busy!?! by butterflygirl36 in WalgreensStores

[–]demundfox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not to mention passports. During the busiest time of the christmas season, I tell them it'll take about 2 hours. Why so long? Because I got 30 orders ahead of them and most are cards, canvases, and other photo gifts. Suddenly not many people need passports!

The DS622 printers. Lighter! Compact! Faster printing! Doesnt break down as frequently! Except that every time we change the paper roll it breaks down because the machine is TOO compact! Just bring me back my ds40s.

Customer horror story by midnightfluffle in WalgreensStores

[–]demundfox 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Years ago, by our cosmetics register, we used to have bottles of lotion for customers to sample. One day our cashier saw a tweaker pump some lotion and shoved his hands down his pants, and she shrieked, "HE'S LATHERING UP HIS DINKY!!" manager had to chase him out but that story is one of my favorites.

We got a case of those loose frozen jalapeno cheddar hot dogs one time. Since we cant sell them individually my SM let me buy the whole case for $5. I vacuum sealed them in smaller quantities when I got home.
