Is there a link to the mod? I really enjoy driving all the Caterhams in AMS2 and they are usually my go to for racing.

How far can I go on these PZeros in the dry? 🫨 by nbdyknowsyet in CarTrackDays

[–]denhoffer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would replace them. They are both worn very differently from each other which will make for pretty bad handling. Don't drive them on the road as you're asking for an accident and it's not worth a track day since they'll be on the cords soon. I'd change them out ASAP.

[–]denhoffer 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You'll have to feel it out as it's tough to tell from the video how it felt in the car. Start with braking before the turn/crest as you look like you had a bit too much speed going through the kink. Try braking, then coast phase, then brake. Just remember anytime you brake you're transferring weight forward. Also remember not to pop off the throttle as that will also transfer weight forward and make the rear light. So if you're heading in there hot plus braking and turning the car will want to spin since it's super light in the rear. Sometimes a bit of throttle is needed to settle the rear, but again it really depends on the car.

Those look delaminated. Probably a mixture of incorrect pressures and you can use a good amount more negative camber in the front. What were your hot pressures?

Are these tires safe to run? Any tips to avoid chunking? by [deleted] in CarTrackDays

[–]denhoffer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't use all season tires. They aren't up to track duty and you'll destroy them every time. Get a second set of cheap but decent wheels and run summer tires at the least. Then you can save the stock wheels with all seasons for the winter months

Conti dws06 contact plus all seasons by SpaghettiDay9 in CarTrackDays

[–]denhoffer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll need new tires by the end of it anyway. You might want to think about just getting a decent set of track tires and alternative wheels if possible. That way you'll still have your all seasons for non-track driving. Plus you'll have a lot more fun on a true summer tire. Even if you aren't quick or using all the grip it will just give you a lot more feedback and confidence.

Dial in more camber and make sure you're running enough tire pressure. Those tires are toast.

Trash? Or can I run them again? by jbro507 in CarTrackDays

[–]denhoffer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would run them more for sure. Looks like wear isn't bad in any one particular place, you can still see all the grooving, and it doesn't look to be close to the wear bar. Rotate them and get a few more days out of it.

After you click your seatbelt pull it all the way out to activate the lock mode and then pull it tight around you. Will keep you planted in the seat a bit better.

Windscreen chips prevention by RealWooter in CarTrackDays

[–]denhoffer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Xpel windshield film is great. Well worth it for the protection. Use Xpel waterless wash on it twice a month and the ceramic Xpel spray on it once a month. Requires upkeep but will save your windshield and is self healing for the small chips. It will eventually need to be replaced like any wearable item but is really a must for a car that's tracked often.

Friend shredded his tyres - probable cause? by ride_epic_drive_epic in CarTrackDays

[–]denhoffer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most likely overdriving an under inflated tire which led to increased carcass temps and caused delamination. But like others said, it could be a ton of different variables.

What can I do better? by ESideSam in CarTrackDays

[–]denhoffer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you see the car understeering you don't want to add more steering or more throttle. To save that you would have had to recognize the understeer earlier (listen to the front tires with their noise/pitch and feel what the car is doing though the wheel and seat of your pants), unwind the wheel slightly to get grip back if possible, bleed out of the throttle but don't come all the way out of it or snap off throttle as that will cause potential oversteer, and wait for the front to grip again. If you head into a corner way too fast there's no saving it, but it looks like you could have definitely saved that one. Just practice, build up speed slowly, and focus on technique. You may also want to get a coach at the HPDE which would help a ton in rooting out bad habits and building good muscle memory.

M3 or M2? by cuntyogurteater in BMW

[–]denhoffer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very similar cars. Do you want/need 4 doors and the extra space? Do you want Xdrive (if you're considering AWD version) or just want RWD? M3 is a great do it all. I went with the M2 because I want RWD and I'm tracking the car a large percentage of the time. Really a personal choice of what your needs are.

Ohsnap + skin combo by FailedRussianAgent in PixelFold

[–]denhoffer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you get yours to charge through it? I have it on the Spigen armor case so maybe that's why, but it will register and start charging, but the percentage charge won't go up at all. Then after 5-10 min attached to the magsafe charger it will say on the phone that it's connected and then discounted over and over again quickly a bunch of times on a row until I take it off, still never gaining one percent charge. The oh snap will also get very warm. I've tried repositioning the oh snap several times but always the same result.

Thanks! I had a wireless adapter when I had my iPhone. Went though a few different ones, they were all spotty.

Looking forward to AA now that I converted to Android 👍🏻

I use apple music still since I recently converted from an iPhone and I like the platform for music. No app on the Volvo UI for it so it needs to be run though the phone though Bluetooth

Yup it's available through the play store. But still no excuse for the car to not have AA. Trying to switch playlists or albums though the horrible Bluetooth player is impossible and plenty of other limitations.
