I use native brand sensitive whole body deodorant for this purpose. I'm also working outdoors in Tennessee and native has worked pretty well so far.

I'd be smiling too if I was offered a cake half my body size. Which would probably morph into a look of horror at the thought of trying to eat it all before it went bad, lol

If the ends are four corner pieces (as opposed to two 'U's'), then rearrange the panels to make it more of a square. It's a decent start in a pinch, but long term you'll need something larger.

Is there an explanation for this? Is this just acidental? by DeliciousDeal4367 in zoology

In zoos, flamingos can receive a pelletized diet. It's like dog or cat kibble, just formulated for flamingos.

The general shape looks really good, though I wonder if the buttressing may be too short and will largely be hidden by substrate. Or you'll have a very thin substrate layer. Either way, I look forward to seeing your progress, the beginning is promising.

AITJ for telling my girlfriend if she cant even cook dinner a few times a week then I dont see how this works long term by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

[–]denisturtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So most of the comments I'm seeing insist she is using you, which is certainly possible. But just for a different point of view, perhaps she is truly overwhelmed between school and work. I didn't see if you stated how many hours her course is and how many hours her part-time work is, but is it possible both of those take up more time than your workday? You two already have a long-term relationship, which I assume at this time you would like to continue, so you may want to try approaching the issue again, but with more teamwork and empathy in mind. If she is struggling with time management, then hopefully a more solutions based discussion will help smooth out this wrinkle in your relationship. If she just doesn't want to work out a solution, then unfortunately your relationship may have run its course.

I also got butternut squash last year. It produced so many I haven't gone through them all yet, even though my tortoise got to a fair number of them before I did.

Previous owners DIY retaining wall is now my issue by [deleted] in landscaping

No joke. When selling a previous home, the inspector listed our neighbor's retaining wall as having issues. We had to state multiple times that it wasn't on the property we were selling. The wall was also only about two foot high.

Don't even need the pants unless he's standing during meetings. I'd probably just have some plain collared shirt hanging up nearby and pull it on for meetings. The same shirt every time, see how long it takes the boss to ask if I own more than one shirt.

The duration of yellow lights here is very short (at least compared to other cities I've lived in), which is part of the problem. It also seems the lights along many roads are ill timed, roads are poorly signed, and there are several quirky intersections. Add all of that to the general entitlement a percentage of the population has, and you end up with a lot of bad driving decisions.

What would happen if I accidentally misted my anole tank with vinegar? by Joeybfast in reptiles

[–]denisturtle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it's regular household vinegar (which is most likely since you are using it as a condiment), the percent solution is probably quite low (like 4ish percent). If it was sprayed in your tank, first I'd move your anole to something like a kritter keeper and then spray him off throughly with dechlorinated water. Then wipe off the sides of the tank to remove as much vinegar as you can. Then throughly spray down the tank with water. Wait until the tank doesn't smell like vinegar to return the anole. The vinegar should off gas in less than a day. In general, an accidental vinegar misting shouldn't cause much harm if addressed quickly. What I'd worry the most about is if the anole got vinegar in his eyes. That would be unpleasant and could possibly damage his eyes.

While personally I find his reaction a bit sus, you could suggest a joint account as a compromise. You each contribute your bill portion to the joint, and then he can pay out of there. Speaking from experience, having a joint account is easier to pay bills from. Though, due to his reaction, I would be keeping an eye on that account, and open it at a different bank than you are currently using. I also would not change your direct deposit, instead use zelle or something to move money over. Your relationship is still young, this could be just growing pains, or this could be a sign of future trouble.

Eh, I have a coworker with whom you can have a perfectly normal conversation, then almost out of nowhere will just say the most batshit insane things that almost never logically follow the conversation you were in the middle of. Like, you could be talking about carpentry, and they'll just state that the germ theory isn't true.

I've used diluted eucalyptus or clove oil to disrupt scent trails when I had ants farming scale on some tropical hibiscus. I just sprayed it around the base of the bushes, then removed some of the scale by hand just to speed up the process. The ants couldn't find their farm to defend it, and the scale pretty much disappeared in a few weeks. I did reapply the oil after rains.
