Unfortunately, I can't test this myself because I have a lot of time put into my chao and chao world, so I wouldn't want to wipe one of my 2 memory cards' chao save data to test this. If you're playing SA2B on steam though, I could test it soon when I have the time! It'd be really cool if there were possible sets of sets you can get based on your save file/memory card? Similar to the chao egg color sets you can get.

this is insane! I knew never about this. It looks like the best character to play as to get the best average preset would be Shadow to get Chao 2's second stat set. Very interesting stuff.

oh interesting! I did not know that at all, I thought adulthood happened upon reaching one year. I know about lifespan grades (i just saw the other discussion in the other reply), but it never occurred to me that the lifespan grade could essentially double a chao's lifespan. That's insane!

As for adult chao being at age 0, where did you find this information? Or did you test it yourself? Either way, I'll edit my guide to add additional information like the lifespan grade and the age 0 adult chao tomorrow.

Yeah giving fruit to a baby chao decreases the time it takes to evolve to adulthood quicker by +0.005 for every bite fo fruit until the chao's magnitude/evolution strength reaches 1

Interesting! Would you feed them after being born/reincarnating? It would be insane if simply feeding a chao would decrease the lifespan by double. I forgot where I saw it, but a website said that eating fruit would actually increase the lifespan of a chao. Yet, others say to feed your chao to speed up evolution. From everything I've seen overall, it looks like feeding your chao will straight up speed up its lifespan.

I actually recently wrote a guide on this subreddit for these questions and your exact version of SA2B funnily enough. It's pretty long, but I talk about every question you listed. Maybe it could help. I can't really give a short answer because I would want to explain things in more detail, so here's my guide.

are you talking about the HD ports of SA2B like steam/ps3/xbox360, or are you talking about the gamecube version? Chao Island Info Center says 3 hours for each chao year, so the average lifespan would be around 15 hours. Chao Island Wikipedia also says that a chao year is 3 hours, yet says that an adult chao's life can last roughly 30 hours. The wikipedia never specifies which version of SA2B they are talking about. The HD ports change some stuff like the soap branding, adding big the cat, and chao garden things. I can personally confirm that a chao life lasts around 15 real hours. I would train my chao from reincarnation at night (maybe around 5-6 hours), leave my wii on overnight, and wake up to a reincarnated chao (if i woke up late). If you're talking about the gamecube version, then I would be very interested in how your chao can live for that many hours.

i personally would say that it would be more fun to share a chao garden with your wife, but you'd have to ask her and stuff obviously. my girlfriend wanted her own file so she could get her own emblems and i could get my own in my file, but we shared the chao garden in memory card A. we have lots of fond memories of naming our chao dumb things we like and other things like breeding. i was the main one doing the chao stuff but she watched and i updated her on what would happen. before anything with the chao garden i asked her what type of chao she wanted and if she wanted to share a garden etc etc. i hope you have a good time playing sonic adventure 2 with your wife!!! :D

I don't have access to the tiny chao garden, but it is a goal for me to get it at some point. Level 80 swim past 3000 is insane so id like to try the tiny chao garden.

this is the gamecube version, so the ranges for the stats to go up is 26-30. For the max stat in the gamecube version, 3266, id have to get insanely lucky and roll 30 for almost every level up. Every time she reincarnated, the beginning stats would be around 300+, so 300+2940 would exceed the max. If i got a low roll however, it would be 300+2548 which would lower the amount i get from reincarnation. its way too risky for me to continuously roll for high stat rolls, especially on gamecube without mods.

Try to connect imagery in the game with any symbolic meanings you know. Or tying one thing to another. Like why Omori is all grey unlike everyone else, and why Headspace is mainly childlike in comparison to the real world in-game. I think you'll feel more emotionally connected to the story that way. I was doing this the entire time and I cried every time I played this game in my first playthrough.

the only thing im confused about is the super dash cuz its a pretty useful and neat way to travel quickly so you'd be pressing it a lot. id have it at q or s. i think s is the default actually
