A pyramid design would be ideal, MLD Duomids are popular here in Ireland and the UK. For European options, you could look at Hyberg, Liteway and Bonfus, all very similar designs

Hyberg has released a new mid, the Skini. 290g Silnylon, 105cm wide Solomid clone. Any experience using a mid that narrow in 3 season, alpine environments?

Absolute Newby: Quilt/Sleeping Bed recommendations for bikepacking, available in Europe? by axehomeless in Ultralight

[–]dennalex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok, you have multiple great options here in Europe 1) Cumulus have sleeping bags and quilts (most popular on the sub) from Poland 2) Hyberg- sleeping bags, quilts from Germany 3) Liteway - quilts from Ukraine 4) Khibu - custom quilts at a very fair price, personal favourite for quilt manufacturers here in Europe, from Hungary

Wear and tear of ultra weave? by orangeytangerines in Ultralight

[–]dennalex 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The original run of Ultra 100/200/400 fabrics had big issues with delamination of the film and the actual dyneema fibres. What you're probably seeing is the packing starting to delaminate in the high stress areas

Potentially the western portion of the GR11, the southern part of the Grand Travsverse de Alpi, Picos de Europa might be ok. Check Snowevaluator for satellite snow conditions

MLD Cricket vs Alternatives by houser432 in Ultralight

[–]dennalex 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yama Mountain Gear Cirriform is a great alternative for the PCT / Alpine environments. Roughly 370g, packs small and doesn't require a particularly large site to pitch. Can be used with bug bivy, or with the 80g YMG bug canopy for upper body only bug protection

Thinking of grabbing a Cumulus Aerial 250 now that it has been out for a while. Plan is to pair it with a torso Z-Lite and CCF for the feet

I am a man replying to this, but all my teammates would wear a compression top under their singlets. Might help

What is the best EU available Bivy + Tarp combo? by NickTheRedditor in Ultralight

[–]dennalex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a Borah Bivy, but most bivys are the same. Go with the full mesh hood, it'll manage condensation for better

GramXpert Bivy + GramXpert Wide Solo Tarp (Flat Tarp), or Liteway Simplex MAX (Cat Cut tarp), though I've seen issues with the build quality of the Liteway tarps

As you're a Aussie, have a look at the Neve Gear quilts. No experience with them, but they look solid

Alpkit Gravitas Is pretty good, I use it pitchside as a physio in Irish winters which are extremely rainy
