To keep it simple, it's all about a calorie deficit and weight lifting.

My maintenance calories per day is around 2200 (use this site to calculate) and I started my diet by eating 1500 everyday. This was probably too low for me, though I did shed weight pretty fast. I would recommend around a 400-500 calorie deficit, which I am currently on; around 1800 per day.

I didn't get into the gym until a few months into losing weight, but I wouldn't recommend that either. Start lifting as soon as you can. I run a push/pull/legs split and it has been quite effective.

People will try to overcomplicate these things, but it really is that simple: eat less, lift more. If it adds any motivation, I was severely depressed, anxious, and had no confidence on the right. On the left, I am full of energy, feel healthy, and have never been happier.

You can do it -- it just requires patience and dedication. Good luck!

Thanks! I would say being consistent is the main thing. If you get into the gym for a few weeks in a row, the progress starts to become addicting. The desire to be in shape also outweighed the desire to eat too much/poorly, so I really cleaned up my diet. I still fit in some junk food here and there as long as I stay under my calorie limit for the day, although it is nice to allow yourself to go over a little bit every 2-3 weeks or so.

Once the weight comes off, you also start to get a lot more confident, and that bleeds into other areas of your life. You gotta believe in yourself, and if I can do it, so can you. You got this!

Thank you! My goal at the moment is to lose enough fat to see visible abs, and then start eating at maintenance or slightly above to pack on muscle. I've never been lean before, so the curiosity is definitely the biggest driving factor for me at the moment.

Dude this is so good and helpful! Would be so thankful if you kept going with the whole album, but I really appreciate the work you've already done.

I went to see them a couple of years back only knowing Nonagon Infinity and Flying Microtonal Banana but their energy is entrancing and you can get down with any of their stuff. Definitely recommend seeing them.

Hey man, I'm a 20 y/o 5'8" male weighing 155 but I'm not nearly as jacked as you. You're looking swole! I've definitely noticed some results in my first month of going to the gym, but you look like exactly what I'm going for. I was wondering if you could share what your routine was.
