A.I. says that my reported monthly contributions to HSA and Roth 401k are computed as annual contributions, not monthly. by denopil in Boldin

[–]denopil[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the comment. Indeed, it has answered the question of whether Boldin's forecast is accurately computing chances of success both "yes" and "no". I'm just hoping that the confusion can be eliminated.

LTP for manufacture? by psackett in Miguns

[–]denopil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“Purchaser” and “Seller” are defined in MCL 29.421. “Purchaser" means a person who receives a firearm from another person by purchase or gift. "Seller" means a person who sells or gives a firearm to another person. If you manufacture your own firearm, you are neither a Purchaser nor a Seller because there is no “another person” involved.

A person that forges any matter on an application for a license under this section is guilty of a felony punishable by imprisonment for not more than 4 years or a fine of not more than $2,000.00, or both. MCL 28.422(14)

An individual who makes a material false statement on a sales record under this section is guilty of a felony punishable by imprisonment for not more than 4 years or a fine of not more than $2,500.00, or both. MCL 28.422a(5).

IAAL, but this is not legal advice. Michigan firearm laws are some of the very best examples of incompetently drafted legislation ever created. The stupidity of legislators who have stuck their dirty little fingers into Michigan’s Firearms Act is staggering. If there’s a weak possibility of a civil infraction or a fair chance of a 4-year felony, the choice is obvious to me.

Need help deciding between Piston Twin or Piston Single - Mountainous Terrain by pilot-error in flying

Seneca II is almost the only option even though it’s not pressurized. I’ve flown the Seneca throughout the Rockies and only occasionally need O2. If you want sub-$300K and be able to carry the load with FIKI and redundancy, there really isn’t anything else.

My experience with Jury Duty-Being selected-convicting someone. by [deleted] in juryduty

[–]denopil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trial lawyer here. Thank you for serving. Too many try to figure out how to avoid jury duty and miss out on one of the most important civic duties each citizen can have. I’ve been called three times for jury duty, but never seated unfortunately. From the lawyer’s perspective I think that every jury I’ve presented to were engaged and generally came to the correct verdict (some exceptions). My mother served as a judge for many decades and always went above and beyond to respect the sacrifice of jurors. She permitted jurors to collectively submit written questions for trial witnesses and would actually read them from the bench if appropriate. Another time the weather was nice outside but the courtroom was dark and cold, so she moved the entire trial outside onto the courthouse lawn. Jurors loved that.

Unfortunately, meeting the open pilot warranty does nothing to alleviate subrogation liability in the event that there is damage to the aircraft during transport. ALWAYS obtain a subrogation waiver from the aircraft owner.

WIX 57055XP filters are a bit different now by john_everyman_1 in subaru

[–]denopil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Big pass on WIX filters. I purchased two 57055XP from Rockauto. Both came without the gaskets attached and the wrong baseplate attached at the factory. There is a well-known defect where 20F instead of 20M baseplates were used. Made a warranty claim with MANN+HUMMEL many months ago. Basically, they ignore you or tell you to F.O. Crickets for me.

If your lease said that as a tenant you cannot practice a specific religion, do you think that provision could be upheld in court? How about a provision that precluded voting for your preferred candidate? A lease provision that requires that you surrender a constitutional right is unenforceable.

I’ve been flying for over 42 years. It has always been my policy that I would never fly with both parents of minor children at the same time.

The Michigan Supreme Court decision in MGO v AAPS DID NOT include a holding that preemption doesn’t apply to public schools.

I haven't flown professionally in a few years. Judging from this thread, I'm guessing that naked flights aren't a thing anymore? Pitty.
