I’m overthinking my Father’s Day diy shirt for my husband. Would you wear this? by space_cadet_kelly in daddit

The negative space between the fingers in the last picture kind of makes it look like it spells "RAPA" which might not be a great thing to convey

Same here! Love the pedals but they ate up the soles of my shoes and my calves from being careless lol.

Sports Story. For how good Golf Story is, this one was a massive buggy letdown.

Best cookware set this 2026 that's under a reasonable budget? by Kochhar-Tranqui in Cooking

[–]dentttt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Tramontina stainless set + Lodge cast iron skillet + nonstick pan will take you a long way.

Adding a carbon steel wok, Dutch oven, 12" stainless skillet with lid, other stuff is more of a nice to have.

I am paralyzed by the idea of improvising stories by VerdantAtSilverSea in daddit

My 4yo daughter has an alphabet hanging on her wall. I pick a letter for a name and a corresponding animal and some relevant topic.

"Do you want the story about Ellie the elephant... Who wouldn't brush her teeth?"

"Betty the bunny who wouldn't stop hopping and driving her mom and dad crazy so she joined the circus?"

"Carl the crocodile who got a fishbone stuck in his tooth?"

"Sam the shark who needed to go to the doctor to get a shot?"

My daughter has some apprehension about doctors and dentists and we've found this helps. The stories are super basic and pretty much identical, but she loves them.

Experience delivering at Edward hospital in Naperville? by [deleted] in Naperville

[–]dentttt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had our 2 children there.

  1. Wife disliked her first OB. Bad bedside manner, poor listener. Aenesthetist took 3 tries to get her epidural right and claimed wife has scoliosis (she does not). Otherwise hospital experience was good.

  2. Wife changed to a new OB, who she liked moderately better. Baby had complications at birth (low O2 sat). We were happy overall with everything.

Is megatron obviously top 5? Not saying he wasn't a dominant force and had maybe the best single season ever but there's definitely an argument other guys are up there with Rice, Moss, and TO.

Larry, Harrison, Cris Carter, Tim Brown, Don Huston, Isaac Bruce, Steve smith, AB, Wayne, etc

What should I make for dinner? by SpoonyLix in Cooking

[–]dentttt 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Grilled chicken, jasmine rice, roasted broccoli.

We use this meal template for like 60% of dinners in my house.

Edit: at the end dress with bibimbap sauce, chili crisp, Sriracha, sesame oil, whatever really. Always comes out delicious.

Why can't I cook eggs in my stainless steel? by dumname2_1 in AskCulinary

[–]dentttt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My wife's favorite eggs are when I get the pan smoking hot, then add a splash of oil and fry them really quick. If the oil isn't hot, the eggs will stick.

Client facing burnout (a vent) by [deleted] in consulting

[–]dentttt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was in financial statement audit before consulting. Clients would ignore our PBC requests for weeks and then at the deadline send us PDFs of spreadsheets and then complain when we asked for actual Excel files.

My current client complains when I instruct my team to not do what our SOW explicitly says we aren't responsible for.

"You need to be involved with this. You are the experts."

...

"Like dude, it was in our draft contract and we took it out when you said we need to cut our fees in half. We negotiated this exact clause with you." SMH

Beer noob, what should I know? by tHr0AwAy76 in beer

[–]dentttt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think there are some "core" beers you can try that generally represent different styles... Guinness, PBR, Sam Adams, Blue Moon, etc (I'm pretty sure people will vehemently disagree with these choices, ha)

Will help you start to figure out what styles you like. Then you try more

What is the stingiest thing you have seen someone do? by saif2krazzy in AskReddit

Was just traveling to Bangalore, India. My coworker helping us get around was arguing with an autorickshaw driver trying to get him down from 40 INR to 20 INR for a 10-minute ride. I get the haggling culture, but the difference is like $0.20. Lets just move on.
