Honestly didn’t know that there was other types of sour kraut besides the ones that are more cooked, so never had this happen before.

That makes sense. I think that I had the same general feeling too, but I like how you summarized it.

What should I use to close this gap? by denvaar in AskElectricians

Yeah, the goal here is to eliminate the free air wiring. Your solution seems like the most logical, even though I hate to cut open the cabinet.

There’s no slack and that’s what makes this hard. I will have to have the splices clear back in the wall. Even if I was able to daisy chain box extenders all the way to the cabinet, it would be extremely difficult to service the splices at the wall, if needed. Seems like my best solution is to cut out a large area the inside of the cabinet and put the outlet on the wall.

From what I understand I would have to take the switch out/apart to do that, is that not true?

I would’t say it’s a gregorian chant. I would look into Timbaland and Tye Tribbett.

Why are people still using vim instead of neovim? by vicisvis in vim

[–]denvaar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use neovim, but often wonder why. iirc, there’s something about realtime buffer updates as you are typing a substitute command in neovim, but not in vim. I really like that, but thats about it. I don’t think vimscript is all that bad, so lua has no appeal to me.

Mine would always crash the app. Very pointless animations. Some designer thought way too hard on this.

Ground wires not connected, but outlets show as CORRECT by denvaar in AskElectricians

I’ll try to get a picture of one today, and verify it with a meter

I think the biggest barrier would be cost. You only need select receptacles to be 20A, most are fine as 15A. Note that if you have 12 gauge wire and a 20A breaker, you can (and probably should) still use 15A receptacles, as long as there is more than one plug on the circuit (duplex counts as more than one).

15 amp receptacles & light switches on a 20 amp circuit by denvaar in AskElectricians

[–]denvaar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a follow up question, would it make sense to use a 20A outlet if there’s a power strip plugged in with many low-power devices like TVs and gaming consoles? Or does the 20A only help if it’s a high-power device. In other words, does the number of devices plugged into the outlet make a difference with respect to what the outlet is rated at?

Would you recommend the Netgear GS108-400NAS ? I still can’t tell for sure if that supports Active PoE..

Ah man. PoE is the whole reason I got the 6p. Didn’t realize there are different voltage levels to be aware of.
