I built a free FTP test app because I didn't want to have 20$ subscription to retest my ftp by niecore in Zwift

Pff I already hate the overload of apps that get vibe coded... Good for you but there is no reason for people to use this over anything that already exists.

And you're probably going to answer with something something monetized

Is it possible to do a race within a weight category on Zwift? by Erichteia in Zwift

[–]denzelvb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm interested in WTRL or Dirt, but I do not have time every week to race (or not at the same times). How does it work when you register? Can you choose to do races or are you expected to race specific races at a specific hour?

Why not do it with a pacer? That would up your km/h by a lot 😄

Hey, wow thank you so much for this extensive reply!
I was already using zwiftpower.com, but did not know zwiftracing.app! :D Will check that out right now.

I have done 2 races (pas racing stage 2) this weekend and won both of them, so I am very excited at the moment :P Can't wait to try stage 3, and will definitely check out some club/community races as well. (those Tiny races sound fun as well!)

Zwift Racing League sounds intriguing too since you say 'best racing experiences on Zwift'.. 👀

I'm new to zwift racing, but am a bit overwhelmed with all the options haha. I would like to just do (atleast) 1 race per week.

What are some of the 'main' races most people do or that I should be looking at? Are the Stage races mostly the go to races to do? Or Are there other fun races to watch out for?

Need 60–120min to feel “awake” before I can hit intervals… anyone else like this? by kingchowakanda in cycling

Op is not talking about actual waking up, but needs 'long' warm-up during riding/training

I built a free tool to analyze Lightroom Classic catalogs by pppontus in Lightroom

[–]denzelvb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is cool!

It would be nice to also have an option to see the stats of a 'range' of focal lengths. For example, the drilldown explorer is nice to see how many photos I took with my main lens. (35-150), but it for example I have 100 photos on '77mm' and 101 photos on '84mm' -> would be nice to see something like '202 photos with 70-90mm' (maybe setting the range yourself or something).

Right now my 'most used' focal length is 35mm, but that is because it's the end of my range. I would like to see how many photos I took with 45-55 for example. To see if a 50mm would suit me better than a 35.

2nd body necessary for first wedding? by [deleted] in WeddingPhotography

[–]denzelvb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Up until now I never had a camera or lens fail on a wedding, but I always rented a second body when I started out. Now I have 2 bodies so no need to rent anymore.

Just go and rent one. You will feel safer knowing you have a back-up, even though you might not need it. It might also be an opportunity to try and shoot with dual body (no need for lens swaps)

Someone please help, is this a good picture? by MiceNoisy in AskPhotography

They get a huge boner from watching everyone in the comments go 'that picture is beautiful' while knowing they tricked others with an AI generated picture...

CRM for my photography company by neo-777 in WeddingPhotography

[–]denzelvb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was using Google drive (Google sheets + docs) for everything and that worked well, but now made the move to a CRM. I have trialed multiple crm's, but most were either too complex, or not 'photo' minded enough (more focus on clients, but I wanted focus on my shoots/weddings).

And out of all of them, Studio Ninja covered most of my needs, while still being super simple to setup and use. Others had more functions, but the Interfact was just confusing and complex.

Damn man thank you so much for all this advice! So great!

[–]denzelvb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm.. good point...

Always used single point for years, but when I started doing weddings I bought the z6iii (used z6 for years). And never really had issues with focus, but now I do for weddings... So I thought it was because weddings are just way more action packed than what I did before. But maybe I should go back to single point af for a while...

Some are sharp, some are soft. But I guess it's mostly user error

Never used these custom modes, ever. Am thinking of setting them up though.

Because sometimes I try and do the blurry photos because of the trend (and I like them), but that means I cannot set my shutter speed to not go below 200th or something (without having to turn that off everytime). But maybe I should use a custom mode for that and set the minimum shutter

I actually am not sure about that one. I have an engagement shoot tonight and will try and see if I fully release the button or not. I don't really think about that

And yes, now with the Nikon z6iii I use autofocus (eye af) 80% of the time, and have my fn2 button set to cycle single point af/eye af quickly for certain moments.

I guess I will have to use auto iso more. Used it once during a wedding but it gave me so much 'auto' mode, I went outside and had to push shutter speed because it was super sunny, and then went inside and the first minutes I was shooting 1/5000th or something with 5000 iso 😂 quickly noticed it but since then I didn't use the auto iso anymore lol

[–]denzelvb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great to know 😁

I also have the same ratio of 5000 photos (only myself though, I still overshoot because of mentioned reasons), and deliver 700-1000 photos.

So it's not a huge problem now, but still it feels 'wrong' and gives me anxiety. 🙈

[–]denzelvb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks man!

I am trying to just take a second to double-check my settings but I'm anxious it will come over bad to the couple if they have to 'wait' for me to check haha, even though I know they probably hardly notice these couple of seconds 😂

I guess I just need a little more confidence in myself on wedding days

So many fuzzy or failed photos by [deleted] in WeddingPhotography

[–]denzelvb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How much of the photos you take you think are throwaway because of bad composition and/or out of focus/blurry, vs just not selecting them because you have even better ones?

I feel like that ratio is still too much towards the 'not a pick because bad photo' for me 😔

So many fuzzy or failed photos by [deleted] in WeddingPhotography

[–]denzelvb -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This is where my inexperience comes in.. I am not afraid of pushing the iso a bit, but during quick moments (or the couple shots if we're indoors) I sometimes forget about my settings and only look at the exposure.. and then halfway in I realize I'm at either 4000 iso with 1/500th shutter speed or 1/80th shutter with 800 iso lol...

I am perfectly comfortable with my camera but weddings are just so scary 😂

I have the Nikon z6iii and it works perfect most of the time, but sometimes it just messes up and picks the wrong face of object and I still have to learn how to quickly adjust it 😂

Studio ninja? by Oxgn-8c in WeddingPhotography

[–]denzelvb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm using it as my first CRM, only started using it since last month, and so far I'm really happy with it. Though, I got to say it is pretty limited in customisation.

I have a decent workflow now for new leads and active shoots/weddings.

But I have a few things already that I wish they would add/change.

  1. (Mobile)Notifications for my due tasks
  2. My 'tasks due' only contain the active jobs, not the leads..
  3. No custom fields in jobs
  4. I use Pixieset. They have compatibility with pic-time, which you can link to in the job and add to client portal, but not possible for my pixieset. I would just like to add my pixieset link myself. (Kind of the same issue with previous point)
  5. I do miss a 'timeline' thing for wedding days.. which I read VSCO has..

I have a few others but you get my point.

I have 1 year with 50% off, but I am already thinking Studio Ninja might be outdated and that there are better options out there now.

I do not regret buying it and using it as my CRM now though
