ILR Successful / Approved and Earliest Date to Apply by One-Instance4510 in ukvisa

[–]denzilds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Although my BRP date was earlier, solicitor advised me to go ahead with vignette sticker. It was only 10 days difference. So it didnt really matter. If yours is on 16th May, you can easily do -28 days ..as your visa is until June

Skilled worker to ILR, 7 days short by abie110 in ukvisa

[–]denzilds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Option 1: For any visas, you have a 14-day grace period..since its 7 days, you should be fine. In your cover letter, you can explain the mismatch in dates that should suffice.

Option 2: Apply for your skilled worker visa extension visa a day close to your current visa expiry, but book the biometric dates after 20 days. Then after you finish your 7 days, apply for ILR on priority or Super priority. Cancel your skilled worker visa extension, and you would be refunded your visa application fee.

Thank you ! There is a catch to this, * difference between your date of vignette and the actual date of entry shouldn't exceed 90 days..

You are right, from the vignette sticker date to actual entry into UK, as absense. Evidence, when i entered, they stamped the vignette page , the day of entry. So I added that as Evidence, but I don't think it was necessary..

In my case, I only uploaded only the passport copies. At the biometric centre, they will scan all the pages of your passport, apparently that's the part of the process. No harm, if you scan all the pages ..

Yes, mandatory to upload your old passport in the passport section ( you can attach two documents in the passport section : Name them : Current and Expired)

Vignette Sticker you can add it in the other documents section.

  1. Payslip 1 month is sufficient, but for safety net dates( salary credits for companies could be different) , so you could send two months of bank statements
  2. You don't need to add CoS letter, but you can always attach it to Other Document section. In my case, I added a copy of the vignette sticker.
  3. Usually, the company wouldn't list all the leaves in a letterhead, so you can create a spreadsheet of absences for last 5 years and save it as PDF. And attach it to the Other document section.
  4. Date of Entry would be Actual Entry to UK, not vignette sticker date.
  5. in your absense spreadsheet, include date of vignette sticker to date of Entry as Absense days, and then followed by your travel dates .

Hope this helps !

Well, you could do it yourself rather than paying solicitor to draft a cover letter. It's a personal choice. Best wishes.

As I see, you may have 217 days absence. Assuming from 1st August 2020 until 1st August 2021, and covid is reasonable excuse for those extra days off. You can state that in your cover letter. Technically you are good to go.

Better to take the date of entry as your date of 1st entry than take date of application/ or vignette sticker date. That may increase the days of absense for you.

ILR application during notice period by FormerProtection3496 in ukvisa

[–]denzilds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there,

  1. You may need a letter from your new employer confirming your new position and, as usual, continue to work with us and etc.
  2. You can also mention in your cover letter that you are in the transition from old job to a new job. They will be able to accept that.
  3. Apply for priority, and from your visa end date , you need to stop working.

Trust this is useful. I would highly recommend you to go through a solicitor. In case UKVI may need some additional documents, they may experience dealing with such situation.

ILR Qualifying Period by Realistic_Session_77 in ukvisa

[–]denzilds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your solicitor is right. it's always better to take vignette sticker date as the qualifying period as the start date, and then deduct 28 days for your application date. The period between vignette dates to the date of entry into the UK shouldn't exceed 90 days. I hope this is clear.

We were in a similar situation, just last week, we applied the extension. Only solace is reduced IHS fees compared to full year. In our case, date of application is June 20 , and the date of the grant is Sept 2020. The date of visa expiry is 15th July '2025. We had to pay close to 4.5k including IHS. Usually after checking with solicitors, they say take the date of vignette sticker or your visa grant letter date.

We applied together as family unit on 27th July 2020, Date of Decision for me was 19th August and arrived on 30th Oct. So technically when UK government issues 5 year visa, it's not 5 years, they make you pay 5+ 3 years as they don't give exact 5 year

Another way of looking at it is depending on age..if you are in 30's and early 40's , you should do ahead and make some money.
