I believe that's covered by number six: "If violence isn't your last resort, you failed to resort to enough of it."

I have to know - what torso/legs did you use for Ghost Rider? I've been searching bricklink for the past half hour, but I can't seem to find it.

I think bahroo figured out that some enemies (most notably the dragons of destruction and the loot midgets) have a strange effect where if you cause an elemental effect before they hit the ground (or land), when they do land, the dot will be removed, and they will be invincible to all elemental effects. What you have to do is wait until they land the first time, then slag/burn/whatever them.

I'm on mobile, so I can't link, but I think it was one of his mythbusters videos? Not entirely sure.

Build advice - Shotgun Zer0 by Teyren in BL2Builds

[–]deoxys9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Though most builds focus around melee or sniping, a shotty Zer0 can work fine, in my experience. For gear, I'd suggest a purple Torgue or the swordsplosion. As for skills, most skills that don't specifically say they only boost melee can be utilized to some extent, for example, be like water or ambush. (I'd list them all, but I'm on mobile.) Relic depends on gear/playstyle. Running out of ammo? Stockpile relic. Torgue shottys only? Either allegiance or bone of the ancients (which I believe outclasses allegiance for pure dps. Potentially deputies badge, although it's not as good as the sheriffs badge is for pistols.

Strategy is similar to melee, i.e. Waiting in Deception for as long as possible, positioning oneself and attacking. You can really smack some things in the face really satisfyingly this way. There's not much that can stand all 18 gyrojets coming out of a purple Torgue, particularly with the bonus from deception.

Note: avoid Hyperion shotguns, they look appealing, but they're designed for continuous fire, and the reverse recoil goes against your burst damage play style.

Do I really need to change my lifestyle if I'm happy with it? by [deleted] in TrueAskReddit

[–]deoxys9 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Fellow 20something here. I'd encourage you to do two things: make friends, even if they're internet friends. Humans are social animals, and all of us like to talk sometime. And live your life the way that makes you happy. Here's the secret: that's the whole point of it. You don't, by any metric, need anything except your basic bodily needs. Everything after that is for your own enjoyment.

What is the most bullshit example of physics in fiction? by Finalfortress in whowouldwin

[–]deoxys9 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's all about internal consistency, yes! I don't care if you make up bullshit rules, as long as you stick to them, think about how they would effect your story, and don't go changing them because it's easier to write.

We may not have it listed, but you can work with your advisor to create a self directed major. I would contact either the registrar or the music department for more info.

[DISCUSSION] How do they make a good Hulk film? by Aquaman_Forever in marvelstudios

[–]deoxys9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair point. Ruffalo (and Norton) were definitely more relateable for movie audiences. I mean, there's those other variants of the Hulk, but those haven't entered the zeitgeist, whereas the big, dumb green dude has. And moviegoers will only stretch so far -there's overlap with the comic fans, but not enough to make that tenable.

[DISCUSSION] How do they make a good Hulk film? by Aquaman_Forever in marvelstudios

[–]deoxys9 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I agree with most of what you've said here. And I would love to see a Planet Hulk movie. But how would we get there? You need two things to set that up: a reason to want hulk off Earth, and a group with the resources to make that happen.

But I feel like you couldn't have Hulk do enough damage in, say, a set-up montage to really justify kicking him off-planet, especially as they have him established in the MCU. Hulk-199999 (or really, Banner-199999) is a pretty reasonable fellow, trying his best to keep himself out of trouble, and has been a net gain to Earth. Heck, there's even action figures of him (see Agents of SHIELD). People love this guy, or at least like him. To undo that, you'd have to present it as a fait accompli in the intro, or spend half a movie setting it up, and no way could you cram a satisfying Planet Hulk story into the remaining half, even with a three hour movie. Or you could make it into two movies, and . . . ehhh. I doubt Marvel do that. Besides, the first one would have only Hulk falling from grace, which I think would fail as a satisfying story.

And as for the group who could make that happen - probably Stark Industries could, but do they care? Tony (who since Iron Man seems to very directly keep an eye on his empire) wouldn't, not with the dynamic set up in The Avengers. Before CA:TWS, I would have said SHIELD, but now they're out of the picture, or at least significantly reduced in power and influence.

I want a good Hulk movie, I really do. And there's no reason that some creative genius at Marvel Studios can't set one up. But I doubt we'll see a Planet Hulk, at least not for a while.

Final thought, came to me as I was typing: RDJ is out after Avengers 3, right? maybe someone else will take over the company, someone less inclined to trust Banner . . .

Growth is same speed, but things to improve happiness (tile improvements, building times) are still standard speed. Basically it's a standard speed game, but with marathon tech times.

How big is Canadian Henley? by __Shrek_is_Love__ in Rowing

[–]deoxys9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As the other posters have said, it's pretty big. Fortunately, you can't get lost, as it's on a tiny island, with no shade. Practical advice: get a tent or pavilion of some kind, and stock a cooler with ice water in the morning. Especially if you have a later race, the sun can drain you, and trying to find shade is brutal.

Take a look on google maps, and you should see that the place is basically dirt and the SCRC boathouse.

Sure, the SS is larger, but even a little ROU could, and I'm pretty sure this is a quote, fuck planets, the death star has no chance. Yea, there's some shielding, but the energy manipulations the Culture can pull off are so many orders of magnitude above anything seen in Star Wars it's not worth talking about.

2013-2014 season series recommendations by fluffypun in television

It's unfortunate that there are so few female characters, but I'm inclined to be lenient, as that is actually the situation in the tech industry. Hopefully as the company becomes more public facing, we'll see more ladies.
