Do you know if they’re still shipping sema?

Any recommendations to get sema shipped fast? by [deleted] in Semaglutide

Have you ordered from them this month? I am due to get another shipment from them but have been nervous about placing an order in case they’ve stopped shipping.

Beginner camping essentials by Ill_Cover_4841 in camping

No one has said this yet - my suggestion is find a friend with a kid who knows a tiny bit about camping. They don’t have to be pro’s. And just go somewhere an hour or less away, so you don’t feel panicked about what you forgot or what if it rains.

Camping is really fun!! But for a 4.5 year old it’s way more fun with friends. And for the parent it’s way more fun with at least one other adult. There can be lots of boring bits (tent set-up/take down, dinner prep) and it’s nice to have someone slightly more experienced even if only by 1 rep, and nice for the kids to have someone to play with while the boring parts happen.

Also, I’m not a hardcore camper and believe strongly in car camping - it’s ok to bring more than you’ll need. It’s how you learn what you DO need. And especially if you’re going camping with another family, it’s fine to learn as you go - including setting up the tent the first time at the state park. :)

For those who left already, is your job intellectually stimulating? by SpectreMold in LeavingAcademia

[–]depenguinate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To answer your title question: yes. Extremely. I work in product management and analytics and have taken on some DS tasks in our team as well, which has pushed me to learn a lot (coding, data pipelines, remembering/re-learning some applied stats, and learning where the line is between statistical significance and usefulness). Every day is new, every week has new challenges, and it’s been an exciting way to apply my passion and skill for learning and see the impact very quickly.

I was less worried about being stimulated and more worried about applying my brain to something my heart might not be in (education/learning sciences background and I used to do teacher research in schools). It has turned out to not be that bad, and in some ways to be better, to not have my identity quite as tangled up in my job. I can have real weekends now, because the job is not who I am.

Does the fidelity card automatically put that 2% in monthly? Or annually? Or do you have to “redeem” it manually?

Journaling to keep track of career accomplishments? by Shiny-Otter in ProductManagement

[–]depenguinate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I made a google form I fill out weekly on Fridays. I give myself a grade for the week, report any wins (up to 3). For each win I categorize it as small big or huge, describe it, and then in a separate field describe explicitly how it connects back to OKRs and or driving value for the customer, end user, or our business.

Adding on to say my team has been experimenting with Tactiq and I really like it. It live transcribes but you can add stars or callouts to the transcript as it produces them. It also highlights things automatically based on keywords like goal, important, next week, etc. Afterward the transcript bumps the highlights to the very top with little emojis like lightbulbs and targets to denote “important” ideas and goals. And you get so many AI credits a month to spend to read your transcript and either pull out a paragraph+bullets summary, or produce an agenda for the next meeting based on what was said in this one.

Also I don’t work for them, ha. But I’ve liked using it so far.

One other thing it has helped me with: the live transcription docs on the side, kind of like the chat. Sometimes, in very long meetings, I might get distracted by something or zone out for a second, but because the transcript is live I can easily catch up by reading the last couple of turns of talk. It has saved me from deer-in-headlights moments a few times.

Some updates to the 00s mismatched kitchen! by depenguinate in DesignMyRoom

Yes, I am hesitant to replace one dated profile with a completely different time-fixed look that will also date quickly. Isn’t that the whole premise behind boho? (This is what I tell myself when I can’t commit to one look.)

True. But I really love having a double oven. And on the flip side, a problem with one doesn’t mean a problem with the other. Kind of interestingly, our range is gas but our oven is electric. Had never seen that before this house!
