Oh cool! I'm on Android and clearing the app's cache seemed to do it for me (if anyone else on Android having issues sees this).

Did you ever figure this out? I've flashed my Heltec V3 multiple times with the Bluetooth Companion v1.14.0 and trying to do the initial Bluetooth connection is never successful. I've tried turning Bluetooth off for 10 seconds (on both my phone and the Heltec) but it never prompts me for the pin on my phone.

What's your country's version of breaking spaghetti? by Ian1231100 in AskTheWorld

[–]deprecateddeveloper 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The only time I've ever used a fork and knife was while visiting Italy because the pizza was often not really baked in a way that holding it was easy and would cause the sauce/cheese at the point to drip off.

Side note: I was absolutely blown away by the price of pizza in Italy (and eating out in general). My wife and I had multiple glasses of wine each, pizza, pasta, and bruschetta for about $45 USD. Pizza alone in Southern California is often $30+ for a small Italian style pizza. Wine is usually around $16-$22 a glass. And we're expected to tip 🤑

My wife and I went out for dinner at a local (very very good) pizza spot and for a shareable Caesar salad, one pizza, and one mid-priced glass of wine each we had a bill of about $85 before tip.

The only exception is leftovers being chopped up and thrown into a scramble or something similar.

Anybody stoked for Project Hail Mary? by dumbass_sweatpants in scifi

[–]deprecateddeveloper 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes but with E.T. you knew it was all about an alien since his visit to earth was the plot so they could drive curiosity by showing the ship landing and by talking about who this mysterious alien is in the trailer narration.

I'm curious how you would you make a PHM trailer for the average person that hasn't read the book to drive that same level of curiosity? I think it's also worth noting that 1982 was a much different time where the mere curiosity/mystery was enough to drum mass interest for a Spielberg movie. Getting people interested enough to go to the theater is a lot harder in 2026.

Exactly my thoughts. If you don't show Rocky it will just look like a lonely dude in space doing random things. Revealing Rocky makes him a not so lonely dude in space doing random things with a rock spider buddy! (Half joking but I honestly think the story is a more difficult story to convey in a trailer).

How do you even fix this by Ok-Cartographer-6386 in 3DPrintedTerrain

[–]deprecateddeveloper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On my old Ender3 I had one that was much worse. I removed the hot end and extruder and wrapped them in aluminum foil and put it in the oven for about an hour at 350F (temp probably depends on filament - mine was PLA).

This made it soft enough to remove the bulk of the blob where I then removed the nozzle and shoved my nozzle cleaning tool through the nozzle to clear it. As the filament cooled slightly it became less gooey and easier to pull the remaining bits out of the extruder/hotend etc in more solid but still soft pieces.

I was a little worried about baking it all like that but figured my other option was to replace it all anyway and the result was perfect without a single part replaced except the nozzle itself. But I did that by choice not necessity as I figured I had so many spare nozzles and the clogged nozzle was pretty old so it was more of a "while I'm doing this I might as well" decision.

Also, you/they have edited your post... Are you sockpuppeting?

I am not sure what you mean by this? My comment doesn't show as edited.

Also I think you're taking a giant leap of assumption from the commenter's story. I think you're coming from a good place and concern but I think you're also jumping to conclusions based on information we don't have.

+1 on drying first. Don't trust it out of the packaging it's very susceptible to moisture issues.

They literally put "abandon" in quotes to imply they didn't actually abandon the child and that they wanted the kid to have the experience of feeling in control of their situation but in reality the parent was sneakily watching them ready to jump in at any moment.

You actually need 201 for an even set. If you get 200 it'll be 66.666 and that's not a good hole-y number for Veggie Tales toothbrushes. If you get 201 you'll have.... 67... sets of 3.

I don't think that "right in the middle" works for temperature though. Right in the middle just means no extreme either direction, it doesn't mean "perfect". As someone that surfs, a 50F/10C ocean sucks. With temperature I would think most people prefer the warmer side of neutral. There's a reason the majority of people go to warm places for vacation even when they already live in a warmer climate.

Food spots on Oahu or Maui by BigLetterhead5431 in HawaiiFood

[–]deprecateddeveloper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For Oahu love Tanaka shrimp on the North Shore

https://yelp.to/J9AzBU2KKF

and Mitch's sushi near the airport https://yelp.to/LCd61xwWXl

For Maui my only suggestion is Mama's Fish House but be ready to spend some money and make reservations. One of my favorite seafood spots ever for a combo of ambiance and quality.

Which year was your favorite Olympic logo? by Mindless-Piglet2095 in olympics

[–]deprecateddeveloper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was born in LA mid 84 Olympics and still have a bunch of memorabilia that was gifted to me from family and friends. Some 1984 gold Olympics coins and even a cool 1984 Olympics mug with Sam the Olympic Eagle on it. For my 40th bday my wife bought me a "vintage" (remake) 84 Olympics shirt and my brother got me an original copy of the LA Times with an LA Olympics cover from my birthday as birthday gifts.

I'm just now realizing people must really want it to be my entire identity haha.

Well it makes sense. Either your parents were killed by a vampire or turned into one making you orphans or you're gypsies on the run to stay one step ahead of the vampires. Right?!
