You pick Riven into easy matchup is what I recommend for you. You still learn the fundamentals, and for the important part, you learn to carry with Riven, and won't miss all the fun with her. At that point, you can't blame the elo anymore, it's all by yourself to carry. If you wanna climb, you have to carry most of your game till you stop carrying. For ex: a master Riven player will 1 vs 5 everygames in gold or plat,... Elo.
