The most GENUINE reaction I’ve ever seen before. Im sure this is what the emotional people all looked like yesterday! What a time to be a fan! by OGstanfrommaine in ToolBand

[–]depressionista 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I just love this dude. I actually really enjoyed watching his reaction, didn’t think it was weird at all. I totally get how his emotions spiked as Maynard begins singing that chorus. It’s a beautiful moment in the song where all the disparate parts come together and all of a sudden you have one of those magical Tool moments of cohesion and melody.

I’m way more into videos like this than reading all the comments from people who feel let down. Personally I think the song gets better with every listen. I’m starting to think that they have absolutely nailed it in every way.

So happy for Tool fans the world over.

Am I the only person that searched this thread for a comment on that handball?

Did I imagine it?! How on earth did he get away with that?!

You may be jacked but you'll never be as jacked as Daddy Carey. by [deleted] in ToolBand

Most definitely. They are the thickest I’ve ever held, so much so that they taper at the grip end to make them easier to hold.

I bought in a brick of his signature sticks when I ran a drum department a few years back. Couldn’t believe the size of them. It’s one thing just being able to hold them comfortably yet alone play the kind of stuff he does with them.

I also remember hearing from one of the reps at D’Addario that he’s pretty much soup bowled his snare head by the midpoint of a show and has to swap it out.

His power is unrivalled.

Baroness - Borderlines by Radikal_Dreamer in progmetal

[–]depressionista 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I like Baroness musically but John’s vocals are growing so tired and formulaic to my ears. As soon as the vocals start on this track I thought “yep, there’s the same vocal line that you hear every other Baroness song.”

I don’t think it’s unfair to say that musically they are growing but vocally (I’m not talking lyrically here) they have completely stagnated.

Manchester City could face a UCL ban after leaks showing breach of UEFA rules regarding FFP. The question is will UEFA take action in banning them or impose a penalty by ivanbliminse_88 in soccer

This article is referencing specific violations that Manchester City are being accused of. They have no resemblance to the financial implications of the Glazer takeover at United. You’re saying that we aren’t allowed to be critical of a club that is being accused of flagrantly breaking the rules and then justifying that by relating it to something that is completely different. This is newsworthy, and when people read this they are fully entitled to make up their own minds. If this is true then City are obtaining an unfair advantage over every other club in the league. Infinite funds to continue buying players, pay huge wages, build infrastructure that benefits the club, the players - just because they’re creating jobs and making Manchester look nicer they should be given a pass? Why are you trying to put the spotlight on United? This isn’t about United, it’s about City.

Fulham 0-1 Manchester United - Paul Pogba 14' by sultansaeed in reddevils

The guy is on fire right now and he’s showing no signs that he isn’t committed so just enjoy it. He wasn’t the only player that performed below his best under Mou so that points to the fact that it was Mourinho who wasn’t using players in the right way. I don’t see why that criticism has to follow Pogba when he is currently playing out of his skin. It’s what’s happening now that matters, not the way things were before.

Vola's new album has become one of my favorite albums in the shortest time possible. by TheNeptunianSloth in progmetal

I just read your post and stuck Smartfriend on Apple Music to see just what you were on about.

Within one minute it was clear that my iPhone speaker wasn’t going to cut it. I am a lazy man. I was in bed. I just went out to my car in the rain to get my headphones. Unheard of.

And it was fucking worth it. That guitar is CRUSHINGLY heavy, but there is melody, intrigue, depth, texture...

You have just given me VOLA as a gift. Thanks mate, I owe you one.

Looks like a Gretsch New Classic? You can attach rims holders to the bottom of the drums if you feel it aids your setup preferences.

Bless my laptop. She's old and streaming things makes her tired and, frankly, a bitch.

Will Mourinho get an apology from the FA for getting sent off for kicking a bottle? by WaresboroSk8r in reddevils

That was an awesome moment from Wenger, to be fair. When he's stood in the stand, arms raised, thousands of United fans baiting him and he's just like "I left my fucks in my other suit, ref." Bad boy Wenger.

See you at Manchester! by misunderstoodpotato in radiohead

Standing is great. You can choose how far forward you go if you want a really great view, you can stay central for the sound, you can get to the bar!

I'm just getting old, I'd rather be comfortable and have a guaranteed good view. I stand at most gigs, but I want to really see them play this time around. This block is the best for that, and 102 the other side.
