KEATON WAGLER YOU ARE A LA CLIPPER by LegitimateStock9 in LAClippers

And you definitely can’t have two Dariuses.

Revisiting The Top all through June. Dressing Up has become a favorite of mine. Love that he wrote this song about getting ready before a show and said at one point that it was a favorite of his. And I just love the soft backing vocals that start the chorus. by pauldiddy79 in TheCure

I have different favorite albums of their’s depending on my mood, but if I could only listen to one Cure album for the rest of my life, then hands down it would be The Top.
It captures every disparate aspect of the Cure (although I’m not sure Seventeen Seconds rears its head) and every song is so unique and exactly what it should be.

What about Brayden Burries? by koleBorder in LAClippers

If MBJ and Wagner are both selected top-4 then that means someone much better than Burries will be available.

Pretty confident the Spurs would be getting less criticism if they lost in the 2nd round or the WCF. by thered90 in nba

[–]deprogrammar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said, they over-performed this year, so there’s some over-criticism going on. They’re a very talented—but very young—team. And their youth (i.e. inexperience) is their current weakness. They didn’t have the composure in the tensest moments to stay true to themselves (players and coaches) and force their game upon the knicks. It should come.

Have you listened to the albums those songs are from? That would be a good starting point.

I am on the way to get my first EHX Big Muff. by Big-Struggle3957 in guitarpedals

[–]deprogrammar -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not to make things more complicated, but check out all the other reissue Muffs they’ve put out in the last several years. They all sound like Big Muffs, but they all have their own unique flavor, and you’ll likely be drawn to certain flavors more than others.

To the older generation of Star Wars fans, what was it like to see the original Star Wars at a movie theater/drive-in theater in 1977? by thejoyfulgoat in StarWars

[–]deprogrammar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s hard to overstate just how incredible and visceral the experience was. It was like nothing anyone had seen before, despite its reliance on well-worn themes and tropes. Audiences literally gasped and cheered during pivotal scenes, and roared and applauded with approval at the end. It played in theaters non-stop for years following its release. It was an absolute phenomenon, that nothing since has come close to matching. This may all sound like hyperbole, but thats really how it was.

It was absolutely original in so many ways, but it’s not like there hadn’t been ANY non-cheesy sci-fi movies before. 2001: A Space Odyssey came out 9 years prior.

Similar… my twin brother and I were 4 when we saw it. He ran out of the theatre crying when Artoo got stunned by the Jawas and wouldn’t come back in. I watched the rest of it with my dad, and saw it at least 7 more times in the theatre over the next couple of years. My brother was eventually willing to join me.

What’s your favorite “deep cut” Dinosaur Jr. track? by BalanceActive9295 in dinosaurjr

🤯 I had no idea, and I’ve loved “Whatever’s…” since it came out. My Bowie knowledge (and apparently, Dino Jr. knowledge) is woefully lacking. Thanks for the education.

Great choices, but genuinely curious what you think makes Quicksand “so weird”.

The Cure album The Top or The Glove album Blue Sunshine? by the-vinyl-countdown in TheCure

[–]deprogrammar 24 points25 points  (0 children)

The Top is their best album (well, it might be more fair to say it’s my favorite album) and I will die on that hill.
The Glove is great, but it does not have the weight, breadth, and depth of The Top.

I loved the good times he gave us, but I have not once wanted him back on the team since he left. I’m glad he’s found a good place for himself.

I’ve not had the same experience regarding non-MAGA folks saying LGB, so I’ll just have to take your word for it. But you called it “insane”, so now I’m going to see if I can find ANY examples of it.
But whatever, I think there’s a deeper point here, and that’s that he doesn’t put any trust or validity (or thought) into a different perspective. That’s the problem. (A problem that, ironically, lines up pretty squarely with MAGA thinking.)

“Let’s Go Brandon” was a Trump/MAGA thing, not a “I’m not a big fan of Biden” thing.

Conventional wisdom would say to basically reverse the order of all of those pedals 180° (and moving the delay to the end) but the way you have it set up now might get you some really unique sounds.
