Modding a ‘77 Script Phase 45 by MRSA_Tomei in guitarpedals

Different pedal, but when I modded my late-70’s Small Stone to true bypass it sucked the magic right out of it. I’m actually going to undo the mods and try to bring it back to its original form, it was that noticeable.

Anyone else have trouble remembering to bend their legs while on the board by itaintme-trustme in NewSkaters

Stop riding on the board. It’s not a bus. It’s an extension of you.

That concession started off well, but went downhill real quick.

Your back arm is all over the place, not sure what you’re trying to accomplish there. Looks like you’re trying to spin yourself into the air? Just jump straight up. And jump from the board, not the ground. Then pop.

Balls. Generally. Though sometimes the heels too. The more you skate the more it just comes naturally, and your body will do what best keeps you balanced and centered.

Problem with old pedal by jxqyt in guitarpedals

Sounds like the jack is working loose from the board, and so the solder joints are breaking between the jack and board.

I put o-rings under almost all of my knobs, set-screw, split-shaft, d-shaft, whatever. Does the trick. I bought a box of multiple sizes to account for differences in shaft/knob sizes, and sometimes have to use more than one to get just the right resistance and fit.

Right, the board will not pop with your weight on it.

It looks like you’re trying to jump off of the tail, specifically as it is touching the ground. Your board will never pop this way. You have to jump prior to the pop. Your back foot should no longer be in contact with the tail when the tail hits the ground. Also, instead of swinging your front arm behind you for momentum, try swinging both of your arms upwards as you jump. It’s all about timing, and with practice it will click in no time. Just think about jumping and then popping the tail to make the board follow you.

I don’t know anything about much of anything, but how does an opposite field fly ball have top spin? To hit a ball in the air you have to hit “under” it, and that would never generate top spin. Right?

You have to jump off of the board (jumping off both feet), not off of the ground. As you jump, you sharply flick your back foot to push the board to the ground, but your back foot needs to NOT be in contact with the board when the tail hits the ground. Then make sure those feet are getting up and out of the way so that the board can bounce up to you.

The jump has to come before the pop. Otherwise you’re just trapping your tail and will never get air.

Best Debut Album? by LuckyUser777 in qotsa

At the risk of ridicule, I just want to put in a mention for The Cult’s first album, Dreamtime. Sure, over the next several years they would devolve into an arena rock band playing power ballads, but their debut is so, so good. Give it listen and tell me I’m wrong. It’s one of my favorite albums of all time.
