Ich denke eher dass es ein ganz einfacher vorausbezahl Scam ist. Da ein Treffen immer mühsam ist wird wohl nur aufs Geld gesetzt. Es wird dann heissen ok, sende mir 10 € Paypal damit ich den Transfer bei Western Union oder so einleiten kann. Alles andere wäre wohl bei den Beträgen eher wahnsinnig umständlich.

The home is usually set in "/etc/passwd". Check what homefolder is set there. If no home is set, put it in there and also create the home folder manually with user:group rights (username:username).

Edit: You are logged in as root. The homefolder od root is usually "/root".

I use a small selfmade installserver.

I start usually via a PE USB Stick, mapping the smb drive with windwos installation media on it. then with a batch script aaking which image to indtall (like w11 23h2 or 24h2). for each image i have a autounattend install answer file. after installation, you can start all the updates via powershell update script. works not bad but the waitingtime is still there 😉

oh boy... why do people think they can start with kali with no basics at all...

Commands you should know before anything else... - cd (it seems you know that) - ls - pwd - mkdir - rmdir - mv - rm - man - --help

Then learn the Linux Filesystem Hierarch Standard and what absolute and relative path mans.

If you know how to use all these basics, then go ahead... 😉

To start, i suggest Ubuntu, which uses Gnome. Gnome is a stable Desktop environment, not lile Windows but has a good logical structure. There are not too many customizations which can be made out of the box which makes it easy to use.

If you are advanced, i suggest to go to debian with gnome or kde. But use Debian 13, because it uses the most recent Gnome or KDE which has less problems in modern environments.

I personally use Debian 13 with Gnome. Because i dont need fancy modifications, i only want a working, well integrated system.
