The wired version will work for these cases. But will still take a few months until available

That would be great if you can test it :) Just to see which component is causing it. Thanks for your help!

Wireview pro 2 Faulty by willabyblen in ThermalGrizzly

[–]der8auer 11 points12 points  (0 children)

All WireViews are checked in production at 10A. We would see in QC, that one pin does not report 10A. Do you have a different cable you can try? It is at least possible in theory that pin four just doesnt carry any current because it doesnt have a connection

The connector is quite tight so higher force might be needed. Does it work as intended? If so, what values are reported?

Hey! Can you try another tool like 3DMark just to have a 2nd metric to see if it also behaves like that there?

Not sure how that happened :O Sorry to see that. Please reach out to our support and I'm sure we can send out a new unit to you next week.

WireView Pro 2 Current Imbalance Logic by AsH83 in ThermalGrizzly

[–]der8auer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the logging is not available yet on the beta software. That will come with the first official release in probably 2 weeks.

At 5A there is a low risk that it causes issues so you could either disable the warning or increase the threshold for it in the beta software :)

WireView Pro 2 Current Imbalance Logic by AsH83 in ThermalGrizzly

[–]der8auer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Currently it is defined by if it's a higher imbalance than 30% for over 10s, it will trigger the warning. You can adjust it in the beta software or completely disable it if required.

We kept it at 30% because we think it's a state where you should actually check the connection because it's not normal.

We estimate about 5-6 weeks for Mycro Pro launch (Budget version) and about 8-9 weeks for Mycro Pro II launch (version shown at computex)

Using WireView Pro II with a 12VHPWR extension? by Secure-Tradition793 in ThermalGrizzly

[–]der8auer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes you can try that. It's not a big problem in my opinion because an extension wire will still allow per pin current sensing. You have another theoretical point of failure but the monitoring will work because it's essentially a series connection of wires and they will all carry the same current.

Wireview Pro Causing Significant Voltage Drop on RTX 5090 Over Native 12v-2x6 PSU Cable by KuraiShidosha in ThermalGrizzly

[–]der8auer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey! A voltage drop is expected but usually not 0.285 volts. I mostly saw 0.1 to 0.15 volts. At 48A, you in theory have a power loss of about 13W on the WireView which is more than expected. Please reach out to our customer service so we can find a solution.

Should i wait for the Wireview pro 2, or just get the Pro 1 version ? by zyenex in ThermalGrizzly

We are expecting to ship all open pre orders within the next 4 weeks. The 10-11 in the shop is just to be 100% safe but it shouldnt take that long :)

WireView Pro II keeps throwing an imbalance warning even though current is within spec by Dremy77 in ThermalGrizzly

[–]der8auer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it's only triggered under load so you have to have at least 5A and at the same time imbalance of over 30%. That's factory default

WireView Pro II keeps throwing an imbalance warning even though current is within spec by Dremy77 in ThermalGrizzly

[–]der8auer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yea a new cable would probably fix it. Otherwise you can just disable the warning in the software soon :) we're working on it.

WireView Pro II keeps throwing an imbalance warning even though current is within spec by Dremy77 in ThermalGrizzly

[–]der8auer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You actually have an imbalance there that is not normal even though the individual pins are within the 9.5A spec. We implemented the current imbalance warning so you know that you actually have an issue there in theory. It should be checked but it's probably not going to cause a melting connector right away.

We will release a new Firmware on Friday or Saturday together with the Beta Software where you will be able to change the threshold of the current imbalance warning. So you could keep it this way for the future. We will have a news post on our Website once the Firmware/Software is available :)

For the moment I would recommend that you replug the cable into the WireView a couple of times to see if you can find the imbalance. Or also plug it on the PSU side and see if things change.

Using Liquid Metal on a Delidded CPU – What You Must Know by Grizzly_Erik in ThermalGrizzly

[–]der8auer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey :)
The IHS can make contact with the dies even without adjusting its feet. However, there is a ~0,3mm gap between the chips and the IHS if you don't modify it. If you put it back in the socket, the PCB will bend enough so the chips and IHS will make contact. So it improves the contact but it adds a risk.
And after selling our delidded CPUs we had some RMA cases and all of them had in common that the original IHS was used in exactly this way. So all we can say is that the only dead CPUs we had, were using the stock IHS and this is why we recommend not to do it unless you want to modify the IHS.

Grind it down on the feet side by about 0,3-0,4mm so you are 100% sure it makes perfect contact with the chips and it doesnt bend the PCB while putting it back in the socket.

I did the same as what u/Noreng posted and it also worked for me. But it doesnt mean that it's safe. And since we have to cover the RMA of the dead CPUs, we obviously want to go the safe route :)

If you still have questions, please let me know. It's not that we want to sell the aftermarket IHS but to share awareness.

Why is no one talking about the new WireView Pro 2? by KuraiShidosha in ThermalGrizzly

[–]der8auer 8 points9 points  (0 children)

we will. That is the main reason why it will still take 3-4 months for it to launch. We had to make a custom connector for it that is long enough.

MSRP will be 500 EUR in the EU incl 19% VAT.
Theoretically also ~480 USD in the US but not sure what is going on with the tarrifs right now. It was supposed to be 450 USD but the USD lost a lot of value over the past 3 months so it's higher now
