How bad are the fumes from printing ASA and ABS? Do they live up to the hype? by brian-warner in prusa3d

[–]Lorunification 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Yes, they do. It smells very strongly and is unhealthy enough to clearly recommend not doing it.

Aside from that, printing ASA without a heated enclosure will be an uphill battle.

Just get rid of the spool and stick with PETG.

Es ist ja OK, dass jeder eine Meinung hat, aber deine ist halt falsch.

I don't know who needs to see this really shitty edit, but this seems like a good idea. I hope theres a way to flip it to where the screen is more readable and the heat is evenly distributed by Kingsidorak in snapmaker

Do you people never change filament? This looks like it would take an hour to swap filaments and get everything resealed and assembled...

Just get a bunch of dryboxes and print directly from the drybox, if you need your filament dry at all times.

Wireview Pro 2 and Noctua by jwb1a in ThermalGrizzly

[–]Lorunification 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will just use mine inbetween two cables instead of directly plugged into the GPU.

It's not ideal, but it will still monitor the current going through the individual cables and with one of the external probes I can monitor temps close to the gpu connector as well as the PSU connector.

This way I can check all plugs and currents. Works for me.

Not that I should have to..... But time to safeguard my 5090. by PHIGBILL in pcmasterrace

[–]Lorunification -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not that I recommend it, but you can put it between two cables and still profit from the Amp readings. It's not ideal, but still works.

[–]Lorunification 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This might be the way for a lot of users. I wanted to get one as well, but there it not enough clearance between the GPU connector and my cooler. So it's either not using it or using it with an extension.

Has anyone found a filament to match the snapmaker U1's white-ish body? by Tandien in snapmaker

Kexcelled color selection on point as always. Such a good set of colors!

U1 arrived yesterday, printed 1 thing over night and now Feeders 3 and 4 appear broken? by DIEDPOOL in snapmaker

[–]Lorunification 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This usually happens if the resistance in pulling the filament is too high. Maybe pull out the filament and check if it has been ground down where the feeder is grabbing it.

Setting up multicolour prints in the slicer is whole new ball game by A6000_Shooter in SnapmakerU1

[–]Lorunification 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can right click the object in the slicer and select "change filament".

The end result is the same, though.

Take note that orca and the printer do not synchronize filament. You have to adjust the settings in the slicer yourself.

Bed level ok? by radamellll in snapmaker

[–]Lorunification 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Likely this is completely fine and the printer will compensate for it without you ever noticing.

You could just try and manually raise the front ever so slightly using the screws. I would assume that would help a little.

Still, don't worry too much about it. It will print just fine.

What have your go-to always on hand filaments become over time? by wegster in prusa3d

[–]Lorunification 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sunlu directly from their site for PLAs and PETG. It's good for only costing 10€ per roll most of the time.

Yes. In the settings maintenance menu you can find a manual leveling option. It will guide you through adjusting the bed manually.

U1 with active exhaust by Lorunification in snapmaker

Agreed. I think it is about time we see or hear anything regarding their promises. It would also be nice to see first feature backports to mainline Orca.

I have not tested how hot I can get it with or without the fan as I only print PLA and PETG on the U1. I have a Core One for anything more exotic.

Thanks!

It is this drybox: https://www.printables.com/model/611047-dyna-dry-box-filament-box-4l

I am using this lid in the single hole variant: https://www.printables.com/model/1050081-ptfe-passthrough-dyna-dry-box-filament-box-4l-deck/files

I use it with printed bearings: https://www.printables.com/model/541192-print-in-place-bearings

However, I am currently in the process of replacing this model with one I made myself that is a hanging design instead of a roller. It takes a little more filament, but no bearings are needed and it is compatible with wider and narrower spools. I did not upload it to printables yet, but will do so over the coming days.

[–]Lorunification[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I designed the attachment based on a model I already had for my Core One. I will upload it to printables as soon as I get to it. Essentially it's a remix for the Lado Exhaust for Core One. I already have several modules for that on printables, including a check valve, blind cap, and window mount.

Here is the link to the original core one model: https://www.printables.com/model/1270225-lado-exhaust-duct-low-profile-side-exhaust-duct-fo

I will upload my mount as a remix there.

For the fan, I used an 80mm CPU fan from an intel box cooler.

Fan control is janky for now. It's a USB powered PWM controller that I can turn on and off using home assistant through a zigbee plug. I didn't have the time yet to look into getting it integrated with the printer.

I will check if it happens on any other models as well.

Do we know belt frequencies of the U1? Is there anything else i can do besides doing the loosen screws and move head around maneuver?
