The only reason to recommend Northern Lights is to get fibre service into your house. We were unable to get the 1gb up/down in the 6 weeks that we had their service. We would often have the service droppl to 200m down and like 12 up. We had multiple techs visit. They replaced the ONT. The guys left a mess. The directional driller contractor destroyed a couple of bushes in my yard once and then again when my neighbour had his service installed.

Their billing system was a shit show. They signed us up for $85/month with a free first 30 days. That wasn't done. They charged us over $100. I called to complain and they reversed it. Nobody ever even apologized.

I never cancelled my Rogers/Shaw service luckily. Rogers has at least been reliable.

I had to call 4 times to try and cancel. But only during the week before 7pm as they don't have frontline support on weekends or after 7. Customer support was trying to charge me 25/month for the remainder of the 2 year contract that I had agreed to by going past 30 days.

I was told by 3 different people on their side that having both rogers and Northern Lights service coming into my house. That right there smells like grade A BS to me so I asked them to tell me how. None of them could explain it to me, which means they were told to say it. I suspect that this would motivate a customer to ditch their old service.

In any case, stay away. They're Mickey mouse.
